This article provide a good perspective on why Prescott turned down the offer - it makes sense to me.. I know Wentz is much better than Prescott but Prescott have data to support his decision, and to be honest, if I was Prescott and I see that I have data to support my wish then I will stick to it. Although, I doubt Prescott literally expects to get $40 m per year, it's just opening point for negotiations.

If I were the Cowboys I'd just go back into the draft and get another QB and let Prescott walk. Prescott is a bigger version of Alex Smith. You can bring in a free agent and draft someone next year instead of giving Dak 35 million. That is absurd. If he hit the open market no one would pay him that kind of money.

I'm not sure about that, people had the same opinion on Cousins that he wasn't worth big money and the Vikings gave him $90M fully guaranteed. I believe someone would pay Dak.

I get your logic but the Cousins deal and his mediocre performance last season makes me wonder when NFL executives are going to learn to refrain from giving huge deals to any but the very best QB's.

For what it's worth, sports radio said last night that Dallas was putting out more of the 40 million figure to protect their offer. If true, I bet he'll sign up for 32-35 million range. Think he knows he's dreaming about 40m/yearly.

The QB position is always going to be overvalued more than any other position. Especially when you have QBs like Cousins that put up gaudy stats that don't necessarily translate to wins. How do you think Fitzpatrick continues to be employed by teams?

Dak is not worth 40,30, or 25 million .He simply is not that good without Zek or Cooper who they all so must pay after giving a D lineman last year 100 mill.

Dan is over-rated for sure and the Cowboys will overpay for him. That will help us over the next decade as our team finally gets better. I consider two wins against Dallas to be a good season!
