Vikings sign Doctson. . . . What are the Redskins cap implications?

Doctson was set to hit the team’s salary cap in 2019 for $3.197 million, and the Redskins will only save $620,000 after releasing him, according to CBS Sports.

We have new WR talent that has more speed, motivation, youth, potential and is far cheaper than Doctson. Saving $620k isn’t much, but dropping him it gives our newest WR a chance to excel. We’ll see how little Doctson does with Cousin (another ex-Redskin underachiever).

I can guarantee that one of these new WR, this season, is going to do far better than Doctson ever did:

McLaurin
Harmon
Davis
Steve Sims
Quinn

One of these WR listed above would have been dropped to the practice squad or completely off the team if we had kept the lame duck Doctson.
