Chico23231 07-04-2019, 05:36 PM Uh, we still need a backup plan at LT, if Moses can't do it, who can?? Flower Power! skinsnut 07-05-2019, 10:28 AM You must be on the same drugs as those that coined that phrase. Luxorreb 07-08-2019, 02:50 AM I love Trent. If he doesn't wanna be here let him go. He's aging and he's been hurt a lot. He's a great LT and a tough one. I'd rather him be in DC for life! I was hoping we'd draft an eventual replacement,,, KI Skins Fan 07-08-2019, 08:20 AM Trent will be there. His base salary this year is $11M, meaning each game check is $687,000. Plus he’s got roster bonuses due that pay him another $15,000 for each game he plays in, so essentially $700K per game. That’s all his contract says he’ll get this season. So even if Bruce plays a hardball game of chicken with him, Trent will be there week 1. It’s too much money to give up. He has no reason to show to training camp - why risk injury when you’ve got $700K per game coming. But he has every reason to be there week one. And besides the team likely sees the sense in extending him some and giving him a bump in pay. Will it be enough to satisfy him? Don’t know, but he’ll be there week one. The last guy to sit out games in a similar circumstance was Le’Veon Bell and his Jets contract didn’t end up making up the dollars lost by sitting. Is there a way to pay him more without extending him? Bonus money, perhaps? I really dislike the idea of extending the contracts of older players. Chico23231 07-08-2019, 10:16 AM I love Trent. Trent doesn't have an option. If things only get much worse should be explore trade option mooby 07-08-2019, 11:37 AM I just we cant just let him go...Its the braintrust (tongue in cheek) job to smooth it over before camp and bring him back in the fold. KI Skins Fan 07-08-2019, 07:09 PM Yes that's possible. Though it would increase his cap hit in those two seasons. Thanks. We'll see what happens. I think they'll get a new deal done. It makes sense for both sides. Giantone 07-09-2019, 12:17 PM So you think this is about money not injuries? |
