The Gmen are in a somewhat similar situation to the Patriots, where they have a SB winning QB in the twilight of his career, who will only leave under his own terms. The difference of course is that Brady keeps winning, so that's not an issue.
Unless it comes directly from ownership, Jones will not see the field in 2019.
i wouldn't say that...your talking about Tom Brady a MVP caliber QB and Eli who looks done.

I didn't say that. I said that both teams have QBs who are dictating the teams what to do with the position. Of course Brady is a perennial MVP caliber QB, and he can do that (this is why Jimmy G. was shipped to SF). I just don't get how/why Eli has that much say; I believe he is the reason they didn't draft Sam Darnold last season, and why they are talking about Jones sitting behind him this upcoming season.

I believe that, as well. Those smell like ownership mandates to me. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that ownership picked Jones, as well. That could explain using the #6 pick for Jones and all of Gettleman's tap dancing when he tried to justify the pick.
The fans surely wouldn't mind if Eli were replaced because they just want to win and Eli's performance has declined markedly in recent seasons.

I bet that Jones doesn't play for the Giants at all in 2019 unless Eli is hurt. I'd even predict that Jones may not play until mid-season in 2020. Eli has such a hold on the QB position with his two SB rings in New York and he is really going to have to decline even MORE before Jones actually replaces him.
BTW, the Redskins had the best draft in two decades. Especially if Haskins turns out to be the bank player many of us feel he is. We NEED a franchise QB after so long without one.

On paper it was a great draft, but we won't truly know how it grades out for 2-3 years

Sent from my SM-G920V using TapatalkThis draft will rise and fall on the Haskins/Sweat combo. Clearly potential and draftvalue wise those 2 picks make it a very strong draft. We may see excellent dividends this year from those 2.

Nobody from this draft has taken a snap.
Congratulating ourselves before doing anything has become prototypical Redskins.
