Number Seven Belongs To Theismann

The only number that matters is the one in the "w" column. All others are just superstitious hocus pocus.

With the exception of Sean T, I don't care much about numbers. With Sean it's a matter of respect for the dead. With everything else, if a number isn't officially retired then it should be up for grabs. If you want to honor someone, then retire the number. Like, what's so hard about this?

If they can give out Russ Grimm's number 68 (and they did), then they can give out number 7.

I can't stand the idea of anyone wearing number 21 after Sean. A great life cut short by an evil act must be honored.

So,i guess that Sonny's no.9 is next,no these youngsters have to respect those who made their mark while here,so being-MVP-winning a Superbowl and going back to back means nothing and if he hadn't gotten hurt Joe would've been at the helm for our other Superbowl victories...let the kid earn his stripes with another number.

The first thing Haskins said when asked about wearing #7 was I have to ask Joe Theismann. So don't worry about the lack of respect angle.

Joe was a very good but not great QB, although he was with us on some truly great teams. I feel differently about Sean Taylor -- I think his number should be locked down for the reasons everyone was acknowledged.

However, if we're concerned about karma, then don't let anyone touch 7 (or 11 for that matter). I don't like what happened to the last two guys who wore those #s.

I don't give a damn if Dwayne Haskins wears #7.....the number hasn't been worn in 34 years out of respect for Joey T....but the number should only be worn if Joey T says it's okay for Haskins to wear it....I'm anxious to see which number Haskins will wear during rookie mini camp in a few short days.
