Not so much lately, but we've had some damn good corners too. Darrell and Champ, even though Champ was a Bronco for longer than he was a Skin, those were four very good years.

Defensewins 03-21-2019, 04:56 PM naw...I love some Jacoby...But a healthy TW is a load and is an amazing athlete. Silverback > Jacoby I am not sure the comparison is fair. They are both very different. Jacoby was 6'7" 325 at a time very few were that big. Plus he had the footspeed to pull on the counter trey like nobody else that size. Jacoby used to battle one on one with Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White and Ed too Tall Jones twice a year. I am not sure there is anyone in the NFC east right now that is as good as Lawrence Taylor and Reggie White. When both are healthy TW is maybe a little better than Jacoby, but TW has had some knee problems that have made him miss some time and makes him susceptible to injury. Jacoby did not. It is very close. DYoungJelly 03-21-2019, 05:10 PM MAN...to be honest we've had some damn good tackles. I like Trent over both, but Samuels and Jacoby are a toss up, probably lean JacobyTrent is a physical freak and when healthy is the best athlete on the field. He is the 1% of the 1%. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk Ruhskins 03-21-2019, 06:08 PM I wouldn't leave out Lachey Indeed. So my updated comparison list: Lachey - Jacoby - Samuels - T. Williams I think the case for Trent would be that a lot of people would put him and Tyrone Smith as the best tackles in the league. And yeah, we've had some damn good left tackles. VTSkins1961 03-21-2019, 07:28 PM I wouldn't leave out Lachey He was great. Jay Schroeder for Jim Lachey - We made out out very well on that trade.... skinsfan69 03-21-2019, 07:45 PM I am not sure the comparison is fair. They are both very different. It is very close. Glad you mentioned this. Jacoby was just so far ahead of his time. He's a HOF player, Trent I'm not so sure. I think Trent gets hurt cause he plays on so so teams. On top of that the quality of the defenses that Jacoby played against were 2nd to none. People may not remember but the Eagles literally had some of the best defenses ever back in those days. Truly great defenses. We all know about the Giants cause they won a couple SB's. skinsfan69 03-21-2019, 07:55 PM He was great. Jay Schroeder for Jim Lachey - We made out out very well on that trade.... This is why you always draft QB's and somehow our front office doesn't do this. Frankly it's just dumb. Stan Humphries was a good player and he was also traded. You should always have 3 QB's on your roster, a starter, a back up that could be older like Colt, and then a young guy who's there to sit, learn and compete in camp. Just using Tom Brady as another example, that first year in 2000 they wasted a roster spot because they felt he had value. Well the rest is history but you should always have a young QB waiting in the wings. Just more nonsense by our front office not to have one. If I were Snyder I would demand that Jay has 3 QB's and a effing fullback. Chico23231 03-21-2019, 09:24 PM I am not sure the comparison is fair. They are both very different. It’s kray Defensewins 03-21-2019, 09:57 PM Glad you mentioned this. Jacoby was just so far ahead of his time. He's a HOF player, Trent I'm not so sure. To add, Jacoby played against the famed Bears 85-86 defense, Cowboys Doomsday defenses, , 49ers Montana and Young teams. Before salary cap the top teams were better and deeper than today. There were Dynasty teams and there were multiple multiple dynasty teams. Teams stayed together. Look at the Patroits and Eagles championship teams from last two year already lost players. OmahaRedskins 03-21-2019, 10:16 PM Over 50% of Jacoby's snaps were against future NFL Hall of Famers. No other left tackle is close to that %. |
