Meh. Rob Ryan's greatest accomplishment in life is that his Dad and brother didn't make him change his last name.

He had the number 2 defense while at the saints. We haven't seen that since GW.

You've got it wrong, Mason Foster has the work ethic, he just doesn't have the talent/athleticism. And Zach Brown has the talent/athleticism, he just doesn't have the work ethic.

Give him Devin White and Rueben Foster...let’s see how it goes. I’d lean he could get it done.

Ryan led a defensive unit in New Orleans that ranked No. 4 in the league in points-per-game and No. 2 in the league in passing defense in 2013. In the 2013 postseason, the Saints defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs who entered the game with the league’s No. 2 ranked offense.
During his two-year tenure as the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, Ryan worked with OLB Demarcus Ware who posted 10-plus sack seasons in both seasons. Ware finished No. 2 in the league in sacks in 2011 with 19.5, the second-most in a single season in his 12-year NFL career.

How come you don't want to mention his other season with the Saints?

Because they switched from 3-4 to 4-3 the second year and he was only there for 3 years.

Who's they? They as in "not Rob Ryan?" Or Rob Ryan made the switch?

That was the only year he had a top 10 defense in 12 years as s defensive coordinator.

His defenses in the bottom half of the league in 10 of 12 years and 24th or worse 7 of those 12 years.

As a defensive coordinator, he was atrocious. Maybe he is a LB guru, but my initial thought is this is an immense downgrade from Olivadotti

Just because you're not a great HC/Coordinator, does not mean you can't be good position coach. See Jim Tomsula.

Tomsula was a widely successful DL coach for years before stumbling into an HC position. when you've been an utter failure as a HC/Coordinator, and completely out of the league for years.... what evidence is there that you should be handed a position coach job? Or presumption that you'll do anything other than what you've done your entire career - fail?

Well there you go then. Foster shouldn't even be out there to begin with. To me that is piss poor management of your team.

Insert play making rookie who can run and the girlfriend beater.
