If you are the 2nd-best athlete in the NFL, does it make it okay?

I was down visiting my friend a few weeks go at Miami, and i remember seeing "Sean Tayor not reporting to Redskins camp, instead he is working out at Miami U" on ESPN. Later that day, I play in a pickup game with ST, and I see the ball go way up in the air, should i try to steal it? As i was thinking this, a big blob comes out of nowhere and throws it(an alley-oop albeit) down harder than most NBA forwards i have ever seen dunk. It was Sean Taylor, a Safety trapped in a starting linebackers body.

When it comes down to it, all the commotion he causes, if he can get acquitted on charges, like almost every other athlete does. he will be on the field playing for us. And this guy is such a good athlete, #2 behind Michaei Vick would be his lowest ranking, that i feel he may not even need to practice (of course practicing would make him better, no doubt), and still be a big time contributor to our franchise. Warpath members, feel free to quote a sentence and state your disagreement with what I am saying, but remember this... in a nutshell, Sean Taylor is a super fast athleitc, intuitive linebacker playing safety thug who comes from a city where the football players are gods and the cops will treat them accordingly.

In answer to the subject - NO. It doesn't matter how talented he is. You can't be shooting at houses. Of course, we all hope it is not true. But if it is, and he is aquitted only on the grounds of being wealthy, an athlete, etc., would you still want him as a Skin? At this point, you have to question his emotional state. I almost feel bad for him. Maybe he has some mental problems.

Seems like Taylors one step away from a "Ray Carruth".

It all depends on what exactly ST's involvement was in the shooting. If Sean was a mere witness, he's fine and I'm fine with him. If Sean was an accomplice, things won't be fine for him or me. If Sean was the shooter, he'd better invest in a chastity belt (for prison) and I'm going to flip.

Yeah, I'm with you Ramseyfan. If he wasn't involved in the shooting (just a witness) I'm fine with him playing for us. But I don't want a criminal with the 'Skins and I'm sure Gibbs feels the same way. We don't need a clown screwing up our organization anymore than it already is. :frusty:

last year ST got burned a bit because even though he's class A physically, he hasn't put the time into film study and mental prep that he really needs to, and until he does he won't be the kind of game changer that manning, TO, reed etc are...

There's no excusing his behavior (if it's true).

And eventually it will catch up with him. Athletes aren't immune from paying their debt to society. Jamal Lewis (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2075502) just did 4 months... if Taylor keeps heading down this road he's on, it won't be long until he's doing some hard time himself.

I sure doesn't sound like he is just a witness. I'll hold out hope, but I hope he realizes that if he were at OTA's he would not be in this mess. I hope his dad whips his butt for this baby crap.

Fellas, come on now.....Who here hasn't, at some point, done something or been part of a bit of high spirited fun?

Why it seems like only last week me and a few of the boys stampeded a herd of cattle through the Vatican.

Damn, I hate the offseason....
