REDSKINS4ever 03-25-2019, 08:10 PM I’ll take Doug over Bruce all day at least we get some honesty out of Doug, and all he’s saying is they look at talent over scheme I see nothing wrong with that.
I think it’s hilarious some in the building think Doug is making them look bad, I mean really??

I wish Allen would go and Doug Williams, Kyle Smith, and Eric Schaffer would run the whole show.....
Chico23231 03-26-2019, 09:07 AM As noted by Doug Williams saying "we don't do scheme" is just another reason why all of these fucking terrible coaches, scouts and managers need to go.

It's the same ole, same ole. Quite frankly, I don't even care about the 2019 coming up. We're going to be once again a team with a high salary cap, with mediocre players to show for it that ends up in a 7-9 season. These fucking morons never learn how to build a good team, but the sure as fuck know how to distract the kool aid drinkers. :drink
This is the worst organization in football period. Its a disgrace what Dan and Bruce have done to this franchise.
FrenchSkin 04-12-2019, 03:36 AM Cooley did a 2018 Redskins 3rd down analysis (https://www.redskins.com/audio/cooley-at-the-park-episode-61) ...
And again, there are some ridiculous tendencies, I'll just say one that seems incredibly laughable to me: on "basic 3rd down plays" (basically that excludes redzone, 2min and some of the 4 min offense), despite being pressured more than 50% of the time, the Redskins ran only 12 screens... 11 of which where on 3 down and 14 or more...
How big of a tendency is that ? That you only screen on 3rd down when there's 14 yards or more to gain ?

The really odd thing is that Jay was a really good play caller in Cincy.... what happened to him?

His talent dropped off a bit here compared to Andy Dalton and AJ Green.
And we put up great offensive stats when we had Cousins, Garcon, DJax, Crowder, etc. Scoring was still an issue, but the play calling hasn't been terrible at all times.

The differences in talent doesn't explain the terrible play calling tendencies.

Screens, boots, sliding the pocket were non existent.
Cooley was baffled at allowing the defense to tee off on the lineman over and over with no surprises or changes.

Gruden's problem isn't play calling....his biggest problem is being very easy for opposing teams to prepare for....those Bengals offenses had slightly better personnel than the Redskins teams he's coached....his play calling is predictable 65% of the time....if you notice Gruden was 2-1-1 against the afc north in 2016, the division he used to coach in....but in the nfc that year Gruden was 6-6.......teams in the nfc conference know how to prepare for him.
skinsfaninok 05-29-2019, 02:51 PM The #Redskins are eligible for Hard Knocks but Jay Gruden thinks HBO would be crazy not to choose his brother.
Gruden: They can do us next year
Reporter: Not if you make the playoffs
Gruden: If we don't make the playoffs, I probably won’t be here anyway
LMAO

Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock are former TV Sports personalities. It'd be foolish for HBO to pass on that IMO.
I think the Redskins have a boring dysfunction.
