So the choice of cutting a concussion prone TE that cannot block and misses more games than not or an athletic ILB that played through injury last year. The decision is easy.
I am intrigued to see Brown and Rueben Foster play together in behind our formidable Dline.Ditto.
SDH should be fully healthy this year too.
He should be much improved due to the recovery time of his injury and the typical jump good hard working players make in their 2nd year.

We already saw Brown play behind our formidable d-line, he sucked. We need to move on from Mason Foster and Brown.

He played through injurys last year and it affected his play. Plus he did not have another athletic ILB playing next to him like he will this coming year. He led the team in tackles in 2017 when healthy.
I know some have their panties in a bunch about him speaking out against our coaching. But we all did that. Our coaching needed to get called out.
I think it is worth one year to see how they all look on the field playing together.

I agree.
There are several players that have had another year to improve and could help fill the holes. Looking forward to see them:
OL Geron Christian
DT Tim Settle
RB Derius Guice
CB Joshua Holsey
CB Fabian Moraeu
TE Jeremy Sprinkle
WR Trey Quinn
DB Adonis Alexander
LB Josh Harvey Clemons
Plus what is going to happen to DB Montea Nicholson and his legal issues? Was he cut?
If all of these guys come back better that will be huge. The list has a huge quantity of potentially good to great DB’s. Leads to the question of Josh Norman and his huge salary. Would he become expendable and what would his cut hit be?

Getting rid of Vernon Davis saves $5 mil, are you kidding me? That would be a no brainer, he always had hands of stone and his best years have long since passed.

I can see 3 or so cuts, however why do they need the cap space? other than to sign Scheriff....but they are not going to spend $$$$ on free agents
Alex Smith will probably be cut next year . And they only need $6 million to sign 2019 draft choices.
