I don't think Jones or Grier is materially better than a QB who we've never heard of that the team could draft in the 6th round.
Jones impressed at the senior bowl. Remember most "experts" said the Mahomes draft class was bad. Anything can happen

"anything can happen" is the worst rationale that could possibly be used for drafting a player. Should we use our first round pick on kicker? why not - anything can happen!

"Dan, I strongly advise you to hire Bruce Allen"
Dan: "What's the driving logic?"
"Anything can happen"
Dan: "You're right, lets go with that"

Not saying just guess and pick a guy, I'm saying the draft projections on these guys isn't near accurate enough. Who's to say Jones isn't a great QB in the making? The draft is a crapshoot at almost every position.

I'm just saying for those that say wait until round 4 or 5 to draft a QB need to understand the chances of that QB actually doing anything are VERY slim. Tom Brady isn't walking around yearly in the late rounds, that was pure luck for NE to find the Goat in the 6th. Most franchise QB's are 1st round guys.

This does not sound like a guy interested in playing football. Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole anywhere near the first three rounds.
He’s playing football, it’s simple economics. In baseball you have to toil away in the minors before you get called up and if you’re any good you’ll eventually get a good contract. In football as a first round pick he’s getting paid right away.
Look at what Payne got last year at 13, $14.4M guaranteed.

Counterpoint: You can make more money in baseball lifetime not to mention you don't have to sacrifice your body either. Not as easy a choice as it seems.
Sure you get more money upfront in the NFL but even if he does play in the NFL I'm not sure I'd see him fully committed to it long term. He literally looks clueless in this interview about what his short-term draft plan is. Why is that? 2 weeks before the combine and you're not even sure if you are going or if you will do the pro day?
Bad interview but everything I’ve read and heard about him says he’s football first.
