In Virginia, malicious wounding can be a very serious injury or something as slight as a breaking of the skin.

Battery is an unwanted offensive touching, which can be a punch with injuries, but doesn't require injuries.

Without knowing more, the seriousness of the injuries is unknowable simply from the charges.

Video footage shows Montae knocking the dude out....people always have their cell phones out recording shit...I hope he doesn't get severely punished by the Redskins or the league....some form of disciplinary action is definitely coming....damn...

Why the no bond?

I thought it was a $2,500 bond?

Wow. It's not like he throws one or two and that ends it. He lands a couple huge ones and keeps going, eventually landing the haymaker that puts him unconscious. And even then keeps coming.

Tough to see it becoming anything but major discipline, up to and including the Skins releasing him. Like it or not having video changes things.

I read somewhere there was no bond and he was still in jail, that appears to be bad information.

Why the no bond?Again no idea, but a charge of malicious wounding no matter the severity carries a presumption against bond.

While simple battery no matter the severity doesn't have a statutory presumption on bond.

Can't watch it at work but that is f-ed up. The pencil dick move of continuing to beat a person when they are down is going to do him in. Personally I have zero tolerance for assholes like that.

Maybe things changed. The original link from post 1 said $2,500 bond but that could be bad info.

From the New York Post:

According to police, an investigation showed Nicholson assaulted the male victim, and Maggiore struck the female victim with a bottle and also struck the male victim.

Police say Maggiore was charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery and remains in prison on no bond. According to police, the victims were treated at a hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

That just sounds to me like the victims got beat up pretty bad.

Edit: Well, the video is pretty indefensible. In light of new information, I retract my previous statement. Whatever punishment the NFL/Redskins deem appropriate I am fine with.
