Time to clean house 1.0.

Idk, maybe it's just me but there's a difference between knowing the game and being able to teach others the game. The former is being a great player and the latter is being a great coach.

Just to use the most recent example that comes to mind, Adam Oates was a HOFer for the Caps, by all accounts knew the game, but he was absolutely atrocious as a coach.Fair point.

What have you thought about his evaluations of draft picks and FA's?

He has usually been spot on with how they will fit in and contribute based on my recollection.

I’m 99 percent confident Allen will no longer be in his current role by Monday.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkPeople are going to be disappointed, if Bruce Allen was going to be fired or moved in the organization it would have been with the mass Purge that just happened. He wasn't moved, he wasn't fired, his position wasn't changed. Nothing's changing with Allen just accept it.

The firings were Snyder’s call, not Allen’s, although I’m sure he didn’t mind.

If Allen stays as team president, he certainly doesn’t know it yet. Loverro reported that Allen is fearful for his job and that he and jays decision to get rid of Swearinger was a “Hail Mary” attempt at maintaining some semblance of control.

I would be shocked if Allen isn’t removed from his current job... perhaps just a little over 24 hours from now.

You seem to have inside sources or something the way you speak. You’ve said a few times that Allen is surely gone. What makes you so certain?

Agreed. I’ve said the same thing. I can understand why Snyder would keep Gruden and Manusky until the end of the season, but there is NOTHING stopping him from firing or reassigning Bruce. If he was going to do it he would have by now.

To be fair, I don't listen to enough of Cooley on the regular to form a basis of opinion on him.

I see his content that's reposted here about tidbits from the game, or play breakdowns where he points out the flaws/successes and I generally agree with it, but that's about it.

All I got is I agree that he knows the game and is a good analyst about it, but can't conclude definitively that would make him a great coach. Great coaching is more about connecting with the players and putting things in terms that makes it easy for them to learn and remember. The truly great coaches also gameplan for players' individual strengths so they can maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

TL;DR: there's only one way to find out if he'd be a good coach. But I don't want to be the team to do it. As much as I hate to say it, I'd rather we bring in a guy without any connections to this franchise. I don't see DS being comfortable with outside NFL talent though. Also Chico made a good point, if Cooley was to come on staff here he needs to start at the bottom and work his way up the ranks. Man's never been an NFL coach before.

I agree. GM isn't one of those positions teams typically wait until the end of the season to fire someone. He should have been fired weeks ago, that way we could get a head start on other teams that will also have an opening (and probably a more attractive opening than ours)

For what it’s worth, Cooley was on sheehans podcast yesterday and mentioned he was on his way to redskins park and at another point in the interview said he was going to hang out with “Danny” later in the day.

Cooley’s taking some sort of job with the team.
