We all said the same thing about Vinny back in the day too...

Which brings us to the frightening reality that this kind of front office management may be here to stay as long as D. Snyder is around. Which it looks like he will be for a long time.

A terrible reality

So if you were a highly touted up and coming coordinator waiting for you chance to become HC and if the Skins position becomes open and you saw how the FO handled this and other situations in the past would you interview here? Take the position if offered? I would like to think a competent person would not and wait for another since HC positions open every year but there are only 32 jobs like this and I think most people would jump at the chance regardless of how F'ed the situation is.

On one hand you have to weigh working for an owner/FO regarded as garbage, OTOH you have to ask yourself if any better opportunities will come along. Most teams searching for new HC's are starting from the bottom, rare are the opportunities to replace a Belichick/Tomlin/McCarthy.

I think that is going to be part of the problem this off season. Green Bay might be looking for a new coach, Baltimore, Cleveland, Cincy. All of those opportunities might appear more favorable. (Cleveland meh). The FO literally hamstrings themselves from finding a quality HC.

I think we are about to solve our long term running back issue; Kareem Hunt is going be available.

I would take John Harbaugh in a second

The question is would he come here? He is not a coordinator scratching for a spot and I am not sure he has the Gibbs/shanahan ego to come here

He wouldn't have to move, just a long commute.

"Basically what you’re doing here is you’re taking a high-risk chance. The high risk was the beat-up that we’re going to take from PR. We understood that from a PR standpoint, and we’re taking it."

---so Hunt is just some more risk for more reward?
