I never said it was a bright move, like I said it /he was ignorant to not see the hypocrisy.
Sounds like you think it is much more cynical than that?
Im not sure I get your point. No one can really know how cynical he was being versus ignorance.

I do think he is a really sharp guy and he pays attention to issues, so it is hard to believe he could be that dumb or ignorant but who knows.

I agree though, the reason he wasn't playing was he want good enough to carry all the baggage.

The thread is going down the rabbit hole. i got one guy telling me nfl players are pretending to be vegans. One guy claiming men are the real victims of domestic abuse. You pop up like a jack in the box every so often to let us know how much u hate ur favorite team. Im leaving and never coming back. This thread is freaking me out man.

You are purposely twisting my words. I claim if they are vegans they are doing something else to maintain muscle mass. I am not going to write a book on the subject, but I seriously doubt the human body functions much different that it did back in the day of the start of the popularity of body building 40+ years ago.

I read books by Schwarzenegger, Columbo, Zane, etc, etc. while none of them admitted to sticking needles in their ass they all agreed on the amount of protein needed to build and maintain muscle mass. They all agreed on needing 1 gram or more per pound of body weight and it looks like that holds true today by expert opinion.

So at 230 pounds Kap should have been getting 230 grams a day of protein.
Explain how easy it is to consume that daily with no animal products of any kind while not getting an excessive amount of calories that would even make a workout warrior fat.

Some people had a real issue with his stance and comments that seemed to defend the murderous dictator, oppressor, torturer Fidel Castro.

You seem to have left that part out.

Where exactly did he make public statements endorsing Castro? I missed that one.

The shirt said like minds think alike.

He couldn't find an x shirt without a murderous dictator?

If he was ignorant he should have said it instead of pointing out the fake literacy rates of the island prison.

But that's not what he said:

How is this different than Marge Shott saying Hitler started out good and went too far?

Exactly how many times have you seen ignorant people say "I am ignorant"?

(Redskins President Bruce Allen masterminded the decision to claim Foster, an NFL official told The Post, who added that the decision was far from unanimous. And yet the team’s statement was attributed to Doug Williams. That won’t help the trust issues

This was an interesting tidbit from my daily sports email dump (https://s2.washingtonpost.com/camp-rw/?e=a2VubmV0aC5hbGRyaWRnZUBmYWlyZmF4Y291bnR5Lmdvdg% 3D%3D&s=5bfea8aafe1ff63507cbc9fb)from the Post every morning.

Exactly how many times have you seen ignorant people say "I am ignorant"?Frankly, a ton. The last one I can think of was the astronaut on Twitter talking about Churchill.

If he was ignorant at the time he wore the shirt after a pre season game, he had plenty of time to become informed before the week in Miami and his wearing the shirt around town.

And the dude is smart and informed on a lot of other issues.

I am not sold he was ignorant, but I don't know so giving him the benefit of the doubt.

God help me as I don't want to be labelled "the Fidel Castro defender" here, but is it possible he could have been endorsing some (I assume Castro had his good moments, few and far between as they might have been) good that Castro might have done, while at the same time being ignorant to the bad he's done as well?

If Kaep came out and said Castro was a good man, and totally not to blame for Cuba's problems of the last 50 years I would probably say Kaep is clueless based off the minimal evidence available. But things aren't always as clear cut as people want them to be.

Castro lead a regime that was rife with racism...in a situation where a genocide label coulda fit.

So to say Kaep is an ignorant sob...he clearly is.
