Yeah, there was enough time to attempt a 7 yard out.
7 yard out on 4th and 10?

Skinsfanatic 11-18-2018, 08:09 PM Yeah, there was enough time to attempt a 7 yard out. 7 yard out on 4th and 10? CRedskinsRule 11-18-2018, 08:10 PM Yeah, there was enough time to attempt a 7 yard out. it was 4th and 10. the only choices at that point were a hail mary pass or hail mary FG. I think Gruden wished on Hopkins leg strength over Colt's arm strength. Got a give a little knock on Quinn. He gave himself up at the 45, which may have been a good call, but if he had fought for a few yards we might have gotten into FG range on that play. CRedskinsRule 11-18-2018, 08:13 PM As I been saying Colt was the right guy for the job for right now. He looked better than Alex. I'm sorry Alex got hurt. I'm not sorry that he's no longer starting for this team. The defense wasn't great today. The Texans ran the ball all over us. The so called "shut down" defense. The players are good but the scheme is pure trash. It's time for a coaching overhaul. They scored 16 points. Take away (which you can't) AS' int that was a 10 point swing and the Defense won the game. Not to mention getting 3 turnovers including one in Houston's RZ. I'm not complaining at all about the D. Buffalo Bob 11-18-2018, 08:18 PM Wasn’t it 4th and 10 Make it an 11 yard out then or a deeper heave and hope for a flag or a catch and run. Also they were on the 45. I know Colt is somewhat of a noodle arm, but I am sure he should be able to chuck it a little over 50 yards. They didn't give us a flag on Doctson's pass why would you think they would on a hail mary? sdskinsfan2001 11-18-2018, 08:44 PM Oops. I'm an idiot, forgot about it being 4th. There was I believe 8 seconds left, going past the sticks and getting out of bounds would have been very very very close and no guarantee it would be completed. There was really no good choice for Gruden. Hail Mary's are not very high rate either. Buffalo Bob 11-18-2018, 08:52 PM Make it an 11 yard out then or a deeper heave and hope for a flag or a catch and run. Also they were on the 45. They didn't give us a flag on Doctson's pass why would you think they would on a hail mary? I realize the referees rarely call pass interference on Hail Marys and Hail Marys are rarely completed. There have been 6 field goals of 63 yards and longer in NFL history and half of those were in Mile High stadium. Pretty sure there have been a lot more than a half dozen end of game Hail Mary's completed, and last second pass interference calls than that. Unless there was a 20 MPH tail wind that was a bad call by Gruden. |
