Excuse me if this has been discussed, now we all know that the owners in their infinite greed will make the[18 game]season happen,so this is my take on it..two preseason games and a two week period before the season begins, now at the halfway mark[9 games]have a bye week league wide before closing out the season, any ideas?

I hope the players don't agree to this.

Owners won't do a league wide bye, they want NFL games on TV as much as possible.

Imagine a guy like Trent playing two additional games with bad knees. I just don't see how you will have quality football at the end. Most of the playoff spots will be wrapped up by week 16 anyways. It's just not a good decision so we will probably see it for the 2020 season.

Not a fan of it at all. Why fix something that isn't broken, PS is good for these young guys needing to make rosters and to also help see if your QB is game ready. 18 games is too much IMO

Am I the only person who wants more football instead of less? I'm not talking about this growing legs and getting to 20 games in ten years and then 24 in another ten, but I'd rather this than those garbage preseason games.

Need 2 pre-season games and 16 regular season games. Pre-season is entirely too long.

I agree. Great points you made here, the extra wear and tear, the already meaningless week 16/17 games due to spots locked up, the only real benefit is more money for the owners.

I would kill 2 preseason games....add 1 more season game....and add 1 bye week...

I am in favor of 18 regular season games. The greedy owners charge the same price for game tickets for pre-season as they do for regular. So the owners 2 more sell outs. We get 2 more games.

As long as they also increase the active roster from 53 to around 65 and the game day roster up from 46 to 55.

If they are not allowed to have larger rosters, than I say no.

plus , what about the players cut? these contracts are based on 16 games. so if the season goes to 18, everyone should be getting a raise

The players can't take 18 games +, their bodies will not hold up. Add in the quality of football will go down . You will need bigger rosters and that means more payroll,if a player is making a million a game for 16 weeks he will get a two million dollar raise for 18. Most of the starters are not playing in the preseason .Hell the quality of the games in the first 3-4 weeks of the year is questionable becuase the players just are not ready. For God's sake don't turn it into Basketball or Hockey where it goes on forever.
