I knew very little about Roquan.
Since reading your post, I watched Roquan Smith's highlight reel and read about him for the first time.
He looks a solid pick. His speed and instincts on the field looks way faster than 4.5 time in the 40. Plus he weighed in at 236 at the combine. Plenty of size. Wow is right.

Cooley made a passing comment on his show yesterday saying Smith doesn't shed blocks like a superstar LB should. That he relies on his speed and inferior competition to go around blocks and that he might have trouble against NFL blockers.

Granted, this was not an in depth break down which he does on various players of interest for the team in the lead up to the draft but is certainly enough to make the team pause at 13.

He said he liked James even though he is a S (not a premier high pick position) at 13 more than Smith.

Who I want: Derwin James or Da'Ron Payne

Who I think it will end up being: Derrius Guice or Vita Vea

Most disappointed if they take: Trumaine Edwards

Pipedream: Barkley or Nelson

You & me bro on the same wavelength. Being a tech fan, I like the edwards a lot...I just don’t know how he will deal with constant size of nfl d lines.

You listed 7 guys. Figuring the first 6 picks are 3qbs and the 3 elites, clearly one of those guys is there at 13. But likely 2 more qbs go and 1 or two surprise picks. If so we could try to drop 3-4 spaces. Add in a wr or 2 and we can drop to 21 and still get one of those guys.

Why not drop to 32 or the second round? One of them might drop that far. By suggesting we could drop to 21 and still get a stud, you've gone from drafting to playing the lottery.

I did not realize what a special athlete Derwin James is. The guy easily double pumps reverse dunks in hoops all day, has huge leaping ability, with really great football instincts. His tackling is rock solid. He can play FS or SS.
At 6' 3" he will fill in and be a big center fielder. Can play in the slot.
He is fast 4.4 in the 40. I was watching him return kick offs and he has another gear he kicks into and out runs everyone.

They trade back to pick #23 with New England and get a 2nd or 3rd round pick. NE needs a tackle or QB and has plenty of picks.

Then Washington can go DT, G, and RB with their first 3 picks.
