Chico23231 04-04-2018, 10:42 AM Not sure if anyone caught Russell on 106.7 this am. Basically he said that Snyder is pretty fed up w/ Allen, and if things don't improve he'll be reassigned to only deal with the new stadium stuff. He mentioned that the constant PR embarrassments are the main issue.. going back to the 2014 press conference, the mess w/ Scot, the Cousins debacle, and most recently the thing that happened w/ the Smith trade, where Williams was made to look like a figure head.
When it comes to drama the Skins have never stopped having it, but we find ways to re-invent the circus.

That is so true! The first thing I thought when I read that account was how could Allen make Williams look that bad to the public? Then I thought is Williams really a figurehead?
That's not leadership on Bruce's part. He made himself look bad, as well. Insecure, ego-centric managers can't stand to give their subordinates proper credit when credit is due.

Doug Wlliams? If so, what incident did I miss?

Basically Allen made the Smith deal and didn't tell Williams until he came to work the next day. He told Williams, "don't pick up your phone until we talk." The media got a hold of it and made it a big deal. If Williams is your VP of Football why wasn't he in on the trade? How come he didn't know until the next day. That type of thing.

IDK, Russell to me seems like a total drama queen

Ah yes I remember that.. I didn't think of anything about that since we don't know exactly the purpose behind that message but now with this news, I suppose it means he wasn't involved in the trade process like you explained or at least it definitely wasn't anything good.
... Just right when we are starting to think Redskins are becoming drama-free organization
It’s pretty simple, all the talent evaluators put together a list and Smith was at the top of all of them. Allen is the guy that actually makes the call and pulls the trigger on the deal. The WP article was sloppy in making it seem like anyone was left in the dark, that’s just not the case.
sdskinsfan2001 04-04-2018, 02:08 PM I always wonder how similar a lot of our "issues" are to many of the other teams around the league, but we're just ragged on more because we're the Skins.
But then on the flip side, we've done a lot of losing the last 25 years so it's probably warranted.

There is a whole team of behind the scenes people evaluating players but BA is the only one anyone knows about.
