So you would have rather have Keenum? I just don't get how "horrible" this trade was, given the situation the team was in when it happened.

I mean at least we didn't give up $87 million guaranteed to be 5-4-1, nor are we 4-6 right now.

I just want a competent decision maker when it comes to the QB position.

Bruce & Danny has been terrible. And when it happened, I felt like Id seen this movie before.

Fair point. It's just that this is nowhere near the McNabb situation IMO. And it's not like Fuller has been lighting it up in KC.

As much as people want to deny it, a lot of what is happening this season has to do again with players not being healthy in the preseason and people getting hurt during the season.

I feel that previous Redskins teams would have fallen apart already with what the team has gone through. We can potentially go to the playoffs with a whole bunch of non-starters.

I actually think its worse than McNabb, because the McNabb extension wasn't as bad as the one we gave to AS. This will handicap the Cap. Also, Fuller has played well after a bad start with KC...he's been solid.

We gave up a 2nd and 4th rounder for McNabb, he was demoted to a 3rd stringer by the end of the season and we went 6-10. Going 6-4 with a ton of injuries to me is a slight improvement over that.

I'm not saying it was a good trade or extension, it's just that it is not as bad as you make it out to be.

I mean, they were both bad though...right?

I think the most frustrating thing with Bruce, Danny and the Front office with the Shanny's...they got 2 QB and paid a fucking ton of draft picks for them for a Coaching staff wanted neither of them. They didn't want McNabb and they didn't want RG3.

Its pure incompetence.

With the Alex trade, I give it an incomplete grade, because of the injury. I give you that it wasn't looking good, but I don't think is fair to judge him on 10 games with a whole bunch of backups.

I think the biggest mistake this FO has done recently, in terms of QB, is not getting rid of Cousins after the first franchise tag. It would have been an extremely unpopular move, but I feel that although the team would have suffer initially, it would have been better in the long run.

IMO the reason the Smith and McNabb deals aren't comparable is because McNabb came to Washington fat, out of shape, and not really interested in playing/learning the system. Smith was none of those things. He arrived in shape and ready to play. So far the results weren't what were hoped for but IMO it wasn't for lack of effort.

The injury throws a serious wrench in the equation. Nobody can be blamed for that.

Alex Smith was a good pick-up, I said it day 1 and still stick to it. He was the best option out there

Where the Redskins really misjudged the situation is they didn't have the Chiefs talent on offense. Smith just isn't good enough to play with the average guys that we have and put points up and move the offense. Cousins stalled out in the red zone but at least he moved the offense for the most part. Smith can't and really didn't unless AP was running the ball. He needs elite playmakers and a running game where Cousins didn't. That is the difference in the two.
