I don't think so. I mean anything is possible, but even Cousins didn't get what the "experts" felt he would get, which was $30 million a year. Cousins and Smith are very similar.

To be clear, all of that information pertains to the deal he signed in 2014 with KC. He will count $17M on our cap this year, because the last year of his KC deal comes over to us.

Next year, in 2019, his new extension will kick in.

I'm guessing Smith won't take a knee on the two yard line with seconds left in the half and no time outs. Loved Kirk, but Alex Smith strikes me as a winner.

I had totally forgotten about that!

Kirk is a really good qb and I wish we would have signed him way back when.

There was frustration from Jay with Kirk not slinging it down field like Rex used to.

I do really wonder how many brain farts like the kneel down happened within the offense that fans would never pick up on.
