I think they said 7M a year
Redskins Salary Cap Status 2018skinsfaninok 03-15-2018, 07:49 PM I think they said 7M a year Schneed10 03-15-2018, 09:16 PM Original post is updated to reflect the resigning of Brian Quick and Zach Brown. Zach Brown's deal is said to be worth 3 years and UP TO $24M. I'm going to assume some of that is backloaded per typical and built into incentives, so preliminary estimated cap hit is 5 million. Meanwhile Quick has to be close to veteran minimum coming off a year with 76 yards receiving. Estimated remaining cap space is $17M. Schneed10 03-15-2018, 09:29 PM Original post is updated again to reflect the now known cap hit of Dustin Hopkins. He counts $1.4M this year, not the $2.0 I had estimated previously. Cap space is now estimated at $17.8M. GridIron26 03-16-2018, 09:18 AM Original post is updated again to reflect the now known cap hit of Dustin Hopkins. Thanks for the update EdmundDorf 03-16-2018, 10:05 AM according to OTC, Richardsons cap hit is $4m this season , if so that takes it a bit higher Schneed10 03-16-2018, 10:39 AM Thank you. The original post is updated. The Redskins gave Richardson a $10.0M signing bonus and kept his base salary low in the first year. So the $10.0M bonus counts $2M per year on the cap, plus his $1.5M base salary and a $500K roster bonus, it adds up to a cap hit of only $4.0M. Schaffer and Allen have structured this in such a way that it intentionally keeps the cap hit low in this first year, which to me is a strong signal that they intend to add more players over the course of the next several weeks and really maximize the cap space they have, which now sits at $19.8M (estimated). Richardson's cap hit goes up in future years, it will be 7.5M in 2019, 8M in 2020, and 10M in the years thereafter. But it is structured in such a way that the Redskins can cut him in 2020 and clear cap space if they so choose. This is essentially a 2 year commitment - albeit one that I think will go longer than just two years. I read this as a master stroke by Shaffer, and a signal that the Skins are nowhere close to done in free agency, though they will be patient and let the market come to them. Once I see the structure of Zach's contract we'll learn even more. skinsfaninok 03-16-2018, 10:53 AM Doug again made it clear that the team will solve the RB issues, so unless they go sign Murray or A.D it def looks like we will draft one in round 1 or 2. MTK 03-16-2018, 01:47 PM Big thanks to Schneed for putting this together, we all owe you a beer Irrefutable 03-16-2018, 01:58 PM Cutting Hood and TJ Cummings will add about $3.5 million sdskinsfan2001 03-16-2018, 02:49 PM https://i.pinimg.com/736x/40/a5/85/40a58597eb9d8b976927f6057a629952--drinking-memes-humor-beer-memes.jpg |
