Was there any comment from the WH about the Madden game shooting?
Parkland ShootingGiantone 08-28-2018, 07:42 PM Was there any comment from the WH about the Madden game shooting? Chico23231 08-28-2018, 08:36 PM Boy, if only there was some link (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/parents-of-jacksonville-shooting-suspect-had-been-desperate-to-find-psychiatric-care-for-son/ar-BBMyAvE?li=BBnbfcL) between mass shooters and mental instability. If only there was some way we could flag those who have mental issues and a history of verbal and/or violent outbursts so they couldn't legally buy guns? I’d like to get something on the books for that, some type of restraint. Also raising the age for assault rifles to 21-24 age, and then banning bump stocks. People complain about millennials(I do, but it’s overblown)...but the following generation is going to be pretty sick. The lack of social skills especially interpersonal communication is dangerous. South Korea has online addiction on the books and is focusing on the destructive nature of a generation looking on their phones 100% of their day. I think the increase in mass shootings is indirectly tied with a generation currently unable to deal with life...if we want to say sure increase funding for mental health...I’m fine with it...but shouldn’t we be dealing with root cause analysis? My question is this...gun violence, homcides rates are down historically...why has this mass shooting thing popped up? It’s not the gun folks...it’s something deeper. Too simply say...oh mental health...it’s dismissive. What’s the driver? The look at me generation, the participation trophy generation....it’s all related. Im starting to wonder if the Unabomber wasn’t on to something...Emerson and Theorau were ahead of their time. MTK 08-29-2018, 09:20 AM I think it really boils down to mental health and the overall stigma surrounding it. Also a lack of services, lack of a system that gives quality coverage to all, too many people that fall through the cracks of society as a result. Having a culture that is obsessed with guns and violence doesn't help. No , actual a better example for better gun control , your bias is showing. # triggerd mooby 08-30-2018, 08:02 PM I don't see the issue G1. -Uber driver taking a passenger home- -crazy guy passes him (on a non-passable 2 lane road) -crazy guy forces a stop- -crazy guy exits vehicle, comes back to your vehicle at rapid pace with his arm in the air holding a foreign object which you can't quite tell what it is in the dark- -crazy guy literally says "you know I got a pistol.. you want me to fucking shoot you?" -I am also armed- fuck yeah I'm drawing and firing. My options are to slam it in reverse and open myself up to direct gunfire, or to gun it and potentially hit the guy's vehicle or pass right next to him still giving him a shot, or c. draw and shoot the fucker threatening my life. I have no problem with that Uber driver defending himself. The real moral of the story (in case ya'll didn't know) is have a fucking dash cam because that quite literally backed up the Uber driver's story (secondary option would be having the passenger testify on his behalf.) Dash cams - mine cost 100 bucks, already saved my ass once in an accident where I got sideswiped 3 years ago. And of course credit the Uber driver for carrying, that also potentially saved his life too (the article says crazy guy was holding his cell phone, not a gun). Chico23231 08-30-2018, 08:13 PM Also in this situation...this crazy redneck dude...if he is stalking ex girlfriend, he shouldn’t have a gun imo. I don’t know if he had an order against him, pending charges, convicted of stalking, etc...but clearly he should have his weapons taken from him. I thought the sheriff summed it up good...paraphrased: “message for all the hotheads out there. Good people are armed. Your criminal behavior could get you fatally shot.” Yes, yes it will. Giantone 09-22-2018, 08:20 AM Talking about crazy red neck dudes? What the fuck?????? https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-father-son-charged-killing-205613556.html |
