Gone for a couple of weeks...

Now don't go overboard on the praise for Redskin rookies while I'm gone because I'll catch up with the threads when I get back. And let's not have too much projection of stats from NFL Europe into next season in the NFL; that tends not to work real well.

I'm heading to Italy for a little more than two weeks with my long-suffering wife and our two sons and their lovely wives. The trip is 99% pleasure and 1% business for me - but if I'm REAL lucky the 1% business part could blossom into something that might force me to go back there several times on someone else's nickel. That would not be tough to take...

By the time I return, I expect some resolution on the Rod Gardner matter and hope to read that both Rogers and Campbell are signed and that both are still happy with their contracts even though they may have signed them more than 72 hours previously.

Keep things under control.

Have a good trip! I'm sure the NFL will still be here when you get back.

I'm not sure who will handle the con side of all the "Should we sign this guy?" threads now.

Enjoy SC! It's not Vegas but I'm sure it'll do! Enjoy Italy, I've heard only great things about it!

Have a happy and safe trip. Say hello to my paseanos for me. Watch out for the crazy Italian drivers. Don't forget to visit the first prototype of an NFL Stadium, the Colisieum..........

Enjoy the trip! I've been to Genoa and Sicily but haven't visited the south yet. Definitely a pretty country. You'll have to tell us a little about the trip in a few weeks.

A couple of useful Italian phrases:

Spelled Phonetically:
Ba fahn culo

Te facio un culo cosi- this must be said while holding your hands real far apart, as if saying "this big..."

Those were at least useful when I lived in Sardegna, but they should translate to the mainland alright... :food-smil

Enjoy, Sports! THey have a different sort of football over there, though the season is over. If you think we're over the top optimistic homer-fans, you should check out the irrational passion of, say, a Lazio fan or a Roma supporter. Or any Italian fan, for that matter. But you might want to tone down your "reality check" comments--they take it very peronal. ;)

Ciao! If you need someone else to assist you in traveling to Italy on someone else's dime, don't hesitiate to IM me.
