"Shocker...Who wants to watch a bunch of rich whiners patting themselves on their backs in their little echo chamber?" DYoungJelly 01-29-2018, 09:19 PM Didn't he get pulled over by a cop or something and treated like a suspect and that's partially why he did it? Welcome him to the club with open arms. Who hasn't at one time or another? mooby 01-29-2018, 09:24 PM Is it Chico? I didn't watch because I don't give a shit what songs win awards. As I saw it put years ago, the Grammy's were exposed as a sham when Jethro Tull won best hard rock whatever over Metallica. Winners like that are why I never take these award shows seriously. And why watch when someone will make a cut of all the decent jokes afterwards and put them online? mooby 01-29-2018, 09:59 PM Welcome him to the club with open arms. Who hasn't at one time or another? I am not totally sure that happened, but either way if the military supports his right to sit or stand during the anthem so do I. That's what this country is all about, is the freedom to have a choice. Maybe he wasn't personally harassed by police, maybe he was. But you can't deny the kneeling wasn't effective, here we are 2 years later still discussing it. Giantone 01-29-2018, 10:00 PM Grammys down 24% last night. It’s all the same song...Too political. People are sick of it. sorry wrong thread. JPPT1974 01-30-2018, 01:44 AM Every award show has been so political that I stopped watching all together. I watch for entertainment and only that. And really think that NFL ratings are down over that same reason. Just hope that Goodell will find it in his heart to fine those who kneel. But would not hold my breath. jamf 01-30-2018, 01:55 AM Grammys down 24% last night. It’s all the same song...Too political. People are sick of it. Leave your bullshit in the Media Bias thread. Maybe people didn’t want to listen to Despacito and 24k magic for the mother fucking billionth time. Don’t get me started on DJ Khalid. He’s the Bruce Allen of rap. HailGreen28 01-30-2018, 10:02 AM It was about a benched former QB who was looking for a way to become pertinent again as others joined in the gesture was interpreted as a different thing altogether. Lets remember when this QB in question was a starter he did nothing of the sort and life was fine. Agreed on why Kapernick really did it. On the gesture... the protest was interpreted, by those participating in it, just as Kapernick said. Now their narrative has been proven a lie, and proven unpopular enough to affect ratings (how much is a matter for debate), of course there's backpedaling and "oh no it wasn't about that". I'll be glad if only this is the biggest controversy of this Super bowl, and enjoy a good game. But some people just want to watch the world burn. Hope the Eagles get blown out this SB, and there are some good commercials. It only got people discussing his right to kneel and pretty much nothing else, so actually it wasn't effective. |
