diehardskin2982 02-07-2018, 06:14 PM Well, let’s see how badly Snyder and Allen screw this up. Let’s rate this deal according to “Albert Haynesworths”. Like as of right now I think this deal is about 80% as bad as the Albert Haynesworth deal, so I rate it 0.8 Haynesworths. What do you guys think, And how good or bad do you think the cousins situation will end up for the redskins?
If they get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd + a player, I am calling it a win. At the end of the day, Kirk Cousins had no intentions to remain apart of the team. This is a business, once he made that decision to leave the team, it is management's responsibility to get whats best for the team.
At this point...who cares if a deal didn't get done in the 2 years ago.
sdskinsfan2001 02-08-2018, 12:12 AM When free agency opens, I want our team bringing in guys that will be year next year, not playing chicken with a FA/teams. Want more picks trade down.
NC_Skins 02-08-2018, 01:10 AM Why are we still talking about Kurt? Let's move on. He didn't want to sign here so we replaced his ass with somebody who did want to be here. Let him enjoy whatever franchise he goes to.

The reason to care about not getting a LTD done two years ago (or even least year) is, would have been a lot cheaper than tagging so freed up cap space, and we wouldn't have had to give away next draft's 3rd rd pick and Fuller for an equivalent though older QB.
Getting back a 3rd and a player now would just break even, and that doesn't count the extra $, and drama, and uncertainty building an offense around Kirk meantime.
And all this the result of a QB we drafted actually becoming good. It's like our FO can't even handle success.
At least we aren't making Kirk run conditioning drills to prove he's in shape for contract reasons, like Haynesworth. (yet)

I agree. Kurt lol
skinsfaninok 02-08-2018, 10:32 AM “I think everybody got some mixed messages; I will say that,” Thompson said on ESPN’s 980, via the Washington Post. “I know for me, talking to Kirk, being with Kirk, all we talked about was, you know, ‘C.T., with you staying healthy, we can do this with you; we can do that with you,’ and we were able to do a lot of the things that Kirk wanted to do with me. We wanted to continue this, so for me, I expected him to be here. I knew it would be hard given that we want to win, but if you pay a guy [$30 million] a year, it’s going to sacrifice some other things as well, as far as helping our defense out, maybe getting some more receivers, or running backs and all those type of things. It’s kind of hard to say. I think everybody got a different feel about it, but I know Kirk enjoyed being with me, and I enjoyed being with him, so I wanted him to be here and I think part of him wanted to be here, but at the end of the day, you gotta do whatever you think is best for you and your family.”
So sounds like CT is saying Kirk is all about the $$$, I can't blame the guy but still it shows the team wanted to keep him.

Because, until we can finally put to bed any remote chance of the 'skins doing some sort of tag and trade, there's still some conversation to be had. I mean, it would be an unusual move for a team to do this, but it's been an unusual situation with Cousins anyway.
skinsfaninok 02-08-2018, 02:51 PM With Jimmy getting 137M over 5 years, Kirk would have gotten at least $140M over 5 maybe more. Someone will pay him that and they will regret it, just like SF will Jimmy.
