I am not sure if this means Bruce will no longer work with Redskins since Snyder mentioned that Bruce will continue to operate in his position. If the rumors are true then Snyder should not mention anything about Bruce in the announcement?

Snyder and Allen are close. This is just a dignified way to do things so it doesn’t look like Allen is being pushed out the door. Allen will be with the Raiders within a year. It’s just a matter of how long it will take for him to transition all the work associated with the new stadium over to lafemina

Today Cooley and Kevin discussed LaFemina's nomination and its implications.

Cooley thinks it has nothing to do, one way nor the other, with Bruce Allen leaving or staying. He's even guessing Bruce hired Brian LF.

They think it means 2 things:

-Bruce Allen was in charge of picking a location for the new stadium, that choice has been made (probably will be announced in the summer), and now LaFemina is here to take care of this new stadium and its build up.

-Bruce Allen will now focus back to football operations (not that he wasn't implicated in them before).

That's quite exciting, isn't it?

I know Bruce doesn't get a lot of love (understandably), but I think continuity is a valuable asset, and this offseason he has done a solid job (AS trade, contracts negotiations, cap management...).

As for the new stadium, I've always understood nobody really likes FedEx Field so it has to feel like a good news.
Hope I'd get a chance to see a game there before the team changes stadium, so I can compare!

So last week, amidst reports Allen was linked to the Raiders, the departure of Scott Campbell, and reports that Kyle Smiths stock was rising, Cooley said Bruce was likely on the way out.

Now someone has been hired who reports directly to Snyder and whose job title arguable is superior to Allen’s, and Cooley is saying “nothing to see here.”

Hmmmmm.

Also, Bruce focusing on football operations is not an “exciting” thing. We don’t want him anywhere near football operations. His strength is the non-football, business side of things. He’s regularly botched football stuff - like his handling of the McCloughan fiasco last year - which reportedly pissed off snyder. Interesting timing that the report said Snyder tried to get LaFemina last year. There is way too much smoke here to not have any fire.

I do agree it's quite a lot of smoke in the past few days though. And as Kevin Sheehan laid it out it seems like a lot of layers of upper management right now.
We'll see I guess.

For the exciting part, I was more thinking about the new stadium and continuity. If BA stays I don't see his role changing, he won't be more implicated in football operations than he already was.

Allen has a home in LA. Plus now that Jon Gruden is in Oakland and soon to be Vegas, I think Allen will end up there. It makes total sense. All you have to do is put two and two together.

I doubt Allen hired this new guy, this was 100% Dan Snyder and the minority owners. He even mentioned that Snyder tried to hire him last year. They're probably tired of several things... constant bad PR, opposing fan takeovers at home games, declining ticket sales, Scot, Cousins, .. Fair or not that falls on Bruce.

Why would the Raiders hire another executive that brings nothing to the table?
The move to LV and the Stadium are already mapped out so they don't need a politician. McKenzie looks like a solid GM so I doubt they would let him go.

Maybe Jon owes BA a favor for hiring Jay, that's the only way he is hired.

The real Question is: If Allen “brings nothing to the table,” why is he still here?

Cooley doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Allen definitely didn’t hire him. This is evidenced by the fact that he reports to Snyder, not Bruce.

I really need Bruce to relocate to your side of the country...let him infect the Raiders. They need to win more off the field

My prediction for this year's Training Camp Man-Crush award: Mr. Irrelevant Trey Quinn confident he'll be relevant with Redskins - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN (http://www.espn.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/36509/final-pick-trey-quinn-confident-hell-be-relevant-with-redskins)

It seems to me that, normally, the TCMC is reserved for undrafted guys. However, as the last pick taken by anyone, I think he qualifies.
