MTK 05-11-2018, 03:02 PM lol nobody was even considering AK as a viable starter anyway but now it’s a huge loss?? MTK 05-11-2018, 03:09 PM If you’re going to have a weak link on your OL, LG is where you want it GridIron26 05-11-2018, 03:30 PM Somebody says exactly that every off-season. It's not you every time is it? No, I don't think every issue can be solved every off-season but this particular problem has been present at least several years. Has fixing LG been last on the list for the last three years in a row? If so, please don't tell me because I still have fond memories of HOF'er Russ Grimm. As for the President, he could at least get rid of that orange caterpillar on his head, couldn't he?Yes LG has been issue for us a while but what can we do when there are limited options out there? Yeah I know we could have drafted a LG in mid rounds but even drafting one does not guarantee that it will solve the issue. The way some of us have been acting, one would think it is easy to find a replacement that will transform our Oline issue. As for the President, I was talking about presidents in general, not the current one.. At the rate we are going today, it's likely things will get worse and next new president will have to take on massive responsibility to fix things. Let's just leave it that way since this isn't the place to discuss about politics. Ruhskins 05-11-2018, 03:34 PM We're in a better situation at QB and we've improved big time at RB. Unless we see something horrible in preseason or we get injuries left and right, I'm not going to lose any sleep over the LG position. Chico23231 05-11-2018, 03:35 PM I disagree. 1) how do you have a 2nd year rookie? 2) Here is PFF's ranking in week 5 last year before the injuries: Here is our ranking after the injuries: (emphasis mine) 3) Roullier was mostly given him a middle of the pack grade as a rookie. He can definitely improve this year. 1) second year player. Yeah so him and Spencer Long rated below avg grade from PFF in the red, but Im hoping he improves... https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol So we ranked 27th and 28th in the middle, middle-left guard running the ball. Certainly that's a problem running the ball. S.L. was the rated the second worst graded LG pass blocking (77). That's a problem. So in conclusion, we got zero problems in the interior. got it. Sky certainly not falling, but this injury today just takes a guy off the board that the coaching staff and FO (not me) put in position to make the most of his opportunity. Sucks CRedskinsRule 05-11-2018, 03:59 PM Thats why i put the week 5 rankings. The line coming into the year was a top 10 line. By end of year we had lost our line's cohesion and all the results Chico listed prove it was a disaster. Fact is, if injuries pile up again the left guard is going to be the least of our worries. Schneed10 05-11-2018, 04:27 PM Arie Kouandjio, lol This entire thing is hilarious. CRedskinsRule 05-11-2018, 05:16 PM Arie Kouandjio, lol This entire thing is hilarious. I think everyone should be happy, not that Kujo got hurt, but if you believed we needed to do something other than what they had, this injury will put more pressure on them to find a proper replacement. calia 05-11-2018, 06:16 PM And it appears that Sean Welsh (UDFA) out of Iowa just decided to retire: https://www.hogshaven.com/2018/5/11/17346456/udfa-g-c-sean-welsh-retires-leaves-redskins Yeah, this guy who at least some folks thought might be a sleeper: https://www.landof10.com/iowa/iowa-football-sean-welsh-nfl-draft-2018-washington-redskins So neither AK or Welch were locks to start or even make the team, but seeing a depleted group of contenders for our weakest O-line position isn't great. The plan is coming together... |
