Way too much crying over the LG in May. Of all the positions in the NFL this has to be one of the most dime a dozen guys. Sure there are some elites, but we weren't paying any elite guard when we have 2 elite and 2 strong players on the line already. Our line, when TW and Scherff are healthy is dominant, just look at the running stats behind those guys. Not losing any gray hairs to a weaker guard next to TW, none, zero, zilch.

What about weaker guard next to a 2nd year rookie C who really wasn't great last year?

Our Oline has been collapsed in both run and pass blocking from the defense lining up over the LG and C on a consistent basis for the last 2 years.

Im saying its a problem

Are there any good LG that might be available for trade?

Joe Berger just retired but Jahri Evans G and Brian Schwenke C still are available and have solid PFF grades, so I'm sure we could find solid 1 year solutions via FA, do not see the need to give value away.

I'm getting a bit scared they're confortable with Lauvao starting... I sure hope either Nsekhe or Sean Welsh steals the starting job!

You think there's a difference? Why?

You made it sound like Redskins were supposed to solve everything in one off season. It's like asking president to solve all issues within one year...

Somebody says exactly that every off-season. It's not you every time is it?

No, I don't think every issue can be solved every off-season but this particular problem has been present at least several years. Has fixing LG been last on the list for the last three years in a row? If so, please don't tell me because I still have fond memories of HOF'er Russ Grimm.

As for the President, he could at least get rid of that orange caterpillar on his head, couldn't he?

Wow. The injury bug bites early. And I imagine it will bite often, given our luck.

At least it's early enough to get someone else. Better now than late preseason.

Kujo play last year gave us some hope....not that is was outstanding, but a couple games he was decent.

With S.L., there is no unknown. Big injury history and bad play. He's done imo.

Forget where...probably Keim...had blurb about Kujo future saying "he was gonna be brought back and given a chance at LG". So at least the Skins were saying they liked what saw enough to bring him back...S.L. was the emergency signing after the draft....

I disagree.

1) how do you have a 2nd year rookie?

2) Here is PFF's ranking in week 5 last year before the injuries:
5. WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Average offensive lineman grade: 71.6
Even though LT Trent Williams is not playing at the level that he did last season when he was the best offensive tackle in football, no one is playing well below average on a line that does not seem to have a weak link at this point. The unit ranks eighth in pass-blocking efficiency with a rating of 81.1, allowing just four sacks on the season, tied for the sixth-fewest. In addition, they have been among the best run-blocking units as well, which is highlighted by the fact that their runners get 2.17 yards before contact, fourth-most in the league.
Here is our ranking after the injuries:
21. WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Total pressures surrendered: 181
Best player: Brandon Scherff
Combinations used: 27

While Washington fielded two elite offensive linemen to start the season in left tackle Trent Williams and right guard Brandon Scherff, both of them struggled to stay on the field in 2017. As a matter of fact, the entire Washington line was marred by injuries a season ago as a whopping 11 offensive linemen played at least 140 snaps for the Redskins in 2017. The injuries had their impact and the Washington offensive line never really got into rhythm over the season. Redskins running backs averaged just 1.29 yards before contact, the fifth-fewest in the NFL while the unit allowed 25 sacks on the season, tied for the sixth-most.
(emphasis mine)

3) Roullier was mostly given him a middle of the pack grade as a rookie. He can definitely improve this year.

"Daron Payne also headed indoors after group work. He wasn’t hurt; it just appears the Redskins are being cautious with some picks."
