I answered my own question -- we get nothing for Breeland because he wasn't signed by anyone as of May 8: https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/redskins/deadline-passes-without-contract-offer-between-redskins-and-bashaud-breeland

And we didn't do a tender (I wonder why) by which we could get a compensatory pick.

I guess it means the concerns about his foot infection are serious and could linger for some while...
Sucks for him, and for us, having him back for 1M would have been one hell of a bargain, even with every body expecting 3rd round pick Moreau to step it up.

I don't think they wanted him back at any price.

They had to like him a bit, they started him outside over Fuller.
I understand not wanting to pay him 10M/y when you think you have a solution with Moreau/Dunbar, and you're already spending 15M/y on Norman, but you're telling if they knew he'd be healthy before the season starts, they wouldn't want him for 1M ?

Straight out of rumor central:

Was listening to WTOP on the way home from work today and they were reporting Scott Campbell is leaving the Redskins.

Unfortunately after searching WTOP and other credible sources the only link I can find comes from the rag of PFT, which may be where WTOP got it from.

Until I see another source reporting it I'm not taking it as fact... yet.

Sounds like it was in the works for a while:

Kyle Smith took over that role this year. Had heard a little while back that Scott was considering leaving after this draft. So this isn't a big surprise. role had changed; still had input... Had been with organization since 2001. https://twitter.com/ProFootballTalk/status/994231362210226178 …

Check that: Took over that role last June for this year. so was in charge of it for this draft. Brings energy/passion among other attributes to the job. Had a good draft too. SC a good guy; scouts not always heard. recall him being a big Moses fan.

Scott Campbell didn’t do anything for me, I like what Kyle Smith did this year and might have his hand in last year’s draft also.

Washington Redskins: Scott Campbell (http://www.redskins.com/team/staff/scott-campbell/4f1e3b8d-55f6-4a22-9363-34308f2515ce)

Washington Redskins: Kyle Smith (http://www.redskins.com/team/staff/kyle-smith/39f7369a-1aee-48a0-b3b1-73951398da88)

Without knowing full details, it's tough to gauge what kind of impact Scott has on Redskins scouting team; being in executive position usually means s/he makes final decision based on what his/her team come up (at least it is in business world). Redskins profile stated Kyle became director of scouting for college in last year and so far the drafts seems to be good so far. I don't think I am too concerned about this change
