It puts extra pressure on FO to resign the player next off season while trying to extend contracts with our players with expired contracts or signing some FAs. But then some could point to how this strategy worked out well with Zach Brown. Ideally we would sign him for 1 year, along with Payne or Vea. Next year we have a NT ready to step in, or we resign him if the Rook doesn't work out. I can understand why as a NT he wants a long term deal though. May be his last real shot at one. Right now I don't think there's any real urgency to sign him, but he's the only FA left that would make sense IMO.
