My only hangup with Taylor is the injury. I've been putting a lot of posts praising the FO, but the one area, other than QB, that they just haven't gotten right is DLine. They relied on Galette the first two years and then when he went out, the FO seemed shocked. If they put more credit to PT being healthy than they should, I can see them passing on Hankins and a first round DL and we ought to (and need to) get a stud NT out of this draft.

I would think that the team does not plan to alter it's plans one iota with or without Phil Taylor. Like Matty said, it's a eh worth a shot signing. You still need to make moves to round out the line because you can't count on Taylor.
Still it'd be a cool story. I like the guy. Hope it works out.

Same. Reminds me of that Mike Williams guy we had a few years back. Dude lost a billion pounds.

I agree. Management probably considers him to be a backup NT candidate.

Who knows if this is true, but I've wondered recently if Dan did have to make a change with Bruce how would he do it in a way for him to save face as the son of a Redskins icon. I actually think that would be important to him. If he did demote him, they could spin the decision as Bruce wanting to take a less involved role for personal reasons.

^ Any “demotion” would definitely be spun as him wanting to take a step back and being an advisor of sorts regarding the new stadium

I can see it now...
"Bruce Allen has decided to step down from his position as President. When asked, he cited his passion for the janitorial arts as his motivation."
