Looks like "it is also announced that O'Connell will receive a promotion to passing game coordinator."

Title of the thread is incorrect and needs to be changed. O'Connell was not promoted to offensive coordinator, he is now the QB Coach and Passing Game Coordinator. Matt Cavanaugh is still the offensive coordinator.

Yes. Basically, Chip Kelly came after O'Connell to get him to come to UCLA and be the OC there, so Gruden said hey I'll pay you more, don't go. And he stayed.

Then Redskins HR, like any HR department will do, said OK well we can't just pay him more without a change in responsibilities, and Gruden said fuck I don't know, add passing game coordinator in there. And they said OK and approved the increase.

I have honestly never heard of "passing game coordinator" in my entire life, lol! But, I'm applying for a job as assistant fumble recovery coach. Wish me luck!
