I like Sprinkle..continue to coach up...V Davis is coming back next year...and let Jordan Reed heal up...I wouldn't change anything. Nile Paul has been good, but time to move on...maybe spend a late round pick for a practice squad type TE if one seems coachable with promise.
Totally agree. I would look to draft a true blocking pass catcher who is a bigger and longer than Niles. Especially if he is anywhere close to BPA.
I do think this line of thinking has to change if he is hurt next year and his dead money becomes more favorable.

5th year in the league, he misses an average of 5-6 games a year and isn't 100% for many of the games he has played in. He has never played a full season. I seriously doubt he is suddenly going to have better luck staying on the field as he gets older, I think it is time to move on from him.I'd trade him for a 5 this OS

I'm glad some of you are not GM's.

You think this guy is going to magically get healthy after 5 injury riddled seasons? You want to pay a guy $9 mil a year (his contract averaged out) to miss 1/3 of the games entirely and play at less than 100% in many others? Last I checked an offensive player in street clothes does not present problems for an opposing teams defense.

Yes, Reed is a great example of "What could have been". In the end he was injury prone and not dependable. He was great for the 4 or 5 games a year that you get him, but that is not enough to be a difference maker. I wonder what anyone would trade for him, if anything?

Thank goodness the FO signed Vernon Davis to a modest contract. At least he posts come gametime, and he's probably our best deep threat this season.

actually they would save about $5 million, this includes about $5 million in dead money

time to renegotiate his contract or cut him

He is certainly a candidate to restructure and makes sense that he would to create some cap space to sign a #1 wr.
