Lets face it, we aint winning the division... Unless Wentz wen't down they have it on lock iMO. Now lets look at the rest of the NFC.
1. Eagles
2. vikings
3. Rams
4. Saints
5. hawks
6. Packers
Take GB out of the mix iMO, they are done with HUndley at QB.
Seattle's D is too good to not make the playoffs.
VIkings should take the north.
RAMS (WHo we beat) we need them to start losing asap.
Right now there are about 5 teams fighting for the 6 seed.
Washington 3-3
Dallas 3-3
Detroit 3-3
Atlanta 3-3.
Car 4-3
This game against Dallas is CODE RED! If we want to make the playoffs u have to beat Dallas at home, then we play Seattle who is also ahead of us.. With the Vikings and saints following. If we can go 3-1 in that span we should be in the drivers seat for the 6 seed.
Thoughts?
Are the skins a playoff team or sub .500?

Being at 3-4 is not a code red even though it obviously doesn't help. We were at 5-6 one year and we won out to make the playoffs, that would be a code red situation.
Even if we do make the playoffs we aren't gonna go deep, there are better teams out there and I think we are going to be walking wounded for the rest of the year at the rate we're going.
I expect us to be near .500 at the end of the year. It is what it is. Really more concerned about losing Kirk and possibly having to start back at square one next year.

I said 9-7 before the season so I'll stick with that.

The sad fact is, this team is more than good enough to make the playoffs, but with the injuries this team has sustained, so far, and the brutal schedule, we will probably miss the playoffs by the skin of our teeth.

I agree with this, unfortunately.
If you look at the first four games of the year, our biggest weapon has been Thompson. Watch the replays of his biggest plays and you see a common theme - either Scherff or Trent get out in front on screens and make unbelievable athletic plays that only a handful of linemen in the NFL could make. I mean Scherff was getting to safeties 25 yards away from the line of scrimmage to spring Thompson.
Their mobility is hampered and thus Thompson doesn't figure to break those plays for more than 10 yards very often, not until those guys are healthy.
The reason Jay was calling all those plays for Thompson is because he knew A) he didn't have the horses at WR to make the same big plays as they did last year and B) he knew his line was fast enough to spring the big play.
He'll still call the plays for Thompson but they won't go for big gainers until our best linemen are healthy and mobile. Either the health needs to return quickly, or the WRs need to step up and replace Jackson quickly. Otherwise we have no big play quick strike ability.
And we obviously miss Norman and Allen on defense.
Hopefully we hang in there and make it interesting at the end of the year with a strong push. It's a decent team if it's healthy.

I think we are going to see Doctson come on strong in the second half of the season.
IF we don't make the playoffs (we certainly still are in the hunt) then this may be one of those years though where 2nd and 3rd stringers get great real game experience and build a stronger core for the next year or years. Of course with the qb discussion - and I defer to other threads for all that back and forth - looming large for the coming off season, we may be in the perfect position to bring a 1st round qb in, and have the core of the team around him ready to go. Or give KC that team that has the quality depth he needs to finally bring home the big prize.
