Chico23231 10-16-2017, 05:10 PM The hits keep coming, literally and figuratively. Each passing week gets a little harder with these injuries piling up. Gonna be a very tough game this week against an Eagles squad and our defense missing Norman, potentially Breeland, Allen, etc. Not to mention Nicholson and Swearinger will be banged up. It's winnable but the offense is going to have to be on point.
Getting an extra day of rest should help...just realized Eagles will have a semi-bye after Thursday night...And their at home???
*Note to self: restock on Kush and Johnnie Walker Black this weekend before Monday night game*
Chico23231 10-16-2017, 05:11 PM Who you gonna take off the field for D.Hall, Nicholson or Swearinger? Idc if Hall sees the field again for the Skins, he's a little old to play corner and our safety tandem is finally decent for once.
McClure will probably be the cut...D Hall will probably be in a package or two at the most.
WillH 10-16-2017, 05:13 PM This defense may be in for a long night on Monday.
Most thought the offense would start slow and get better throughout the season. They have been improving, but I think they will need to make a big leap next Monday to take pressure off our injury ridden defense. It could be a shoot out. It's time for Doctson and Prior to step the f#€% up.

Just saw Doctson was only in for 18 snaps. I'm happy that Grant is producing, but JD needs more playing time. He is showing what his potential can bring this team, it's time to get him more reps on passing downs. Hell, if you don't want to take them from Grant, take them from Pryor.

sdskinsfan2001 10-16-2017, 07:08 PM We're dropping like flies on defense. We're beat to shit. Gonna have to keep this in mind when watching on Monday. Hate excuses in football, but this is just brutal. I hate when big guys get foot injuries. Just ugh!
Looks like a legit play to me, refs need to chill, back in the day this is called finishing your block

The refs completely shit the bed this week...terrible flag
Just lovely:
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Redskins K Dustin Hopkins (hip) is week to week.
He's out for Week 7 against the Eagles on Monday Night Football, so the Redskins will be signing a kicker.
Fuck. Seriously banged up team

I loved the block, that's the best block I've seen by Redskins o-lineman in years. TBH, I thought the flag was for ramming the linebacker in the back with his helmet, which I don't have a problem with. If the flag really was for the block, it was a shit call.
J. Falcon 10-17-2017, 10:43 AM Is it me or do the injuries seem to get worse each year? It's making the sport much less enjoyable IMO. I remember when you could expect to watch your favorite players play the entire season. Not anymore it seems.
FrenchSkin 10-17-2017, 11:28 AM The leading-with-the-crown-of-your-helmet rule is a much more controversial new rule. Both offensive and defensive players who lead with the top of the helmet will be flagged 15 yards in certain, specific circumstances. Should both players be flagged, the penalties will offset and the teams will replay the down.
"It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team's end line)," the new rule -- Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8 -- reads. "Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or tackler against an opponent shall not be a foul."

I dont think garcon really lead with the crown of his helmet. Seems like Nicholson came in with his head lower.
Really hard to watch. A couple plays a game it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Cut blocks down field. I thought they eliminated low/cut blocks outside the box and down field but I looked up the rule and didnt see anything. That fucking Niner O lineman just pussy blocked Breeland's knees for no reason.
Secondary is spread way to thin w injuries, D needs to play soft and off.
- I'm pretty sure the rule is outside the box, a low block is only legal if made clearly in front of the defender (not from the side) , and in the direction of the play.
At least that is the way we're told to apply the rule in France, where we play with NCAA rules.
Both conditions are met on the play Breeland gets injured on. So to me it's cheap but legal.
- On the other hand, the fact that Nicholson was allowed back into the game amazes me... Makes you wonder about the quality of the concussion protocol...
"Are you concussed? -No Auntie I'm fine. I like puppies. -Ok he's fine send him back there"...
