I'm not gonna rehash these ongoing arguments understand why kneeling for the anthem and not paying respect for the flag is disrespectful to military, Vets, general everyday folks who work long hours to serve and protect the country and their community...and is just generally anti-American ....then get out of you self serving bubble and get woke. Its easy to understand that folks who disrespect these symbols would garner anger towards them. And its not just vets, have you forgotten the global war on Islamic terrorist we are currently fighting...maybe speak to the victims of Boston, Fort Hood, Orlando and San Bernardino about that. Or maybe about to the active military along the 38th parallel in Korea who face a very real threat. We take a lot of things for granted. that's first.

Second, this protest has been very effective but the messaging from day 1 has been the issue. The clear message is "regardless of race or color all laws and justice should be equally applied to every American citizen. Equal treatment from enforcing agencies is demanded from the citizens of this country." Something along those lines. Kap and now others haven't established this clearly. Kap wearing the pig socks, the pussy Che shirt, not voting, supporting some questionable causes, saying some really ignorant shit...didn't really embody a positive message of awareness or change. A lot of blowback is because of him. Also from above, folks who say black on black crime this or that, either don't understand the protest or completely ignorant of it b/c that's not what this is about...I do think in a broader context of a bigger conversation there is merit but certainly not this conversation.

Now...the President. One thing every American should be completely irate about is the President standing in Alabama (context counts in a state where racial injustice has a history) and cursing a citizen by calling him a SOB over what has been a peaceful protest. This is completely unacceptable and the unifying arm locks I thought was a great response by the teams of the NFL. We should all be appalled and the President should apologize. This was disgraceful.

When I stand for the National Anthem I stand in respect to the fact that the flag is the symbol of the entire USA not just the military and DoD civilians. To limit the flag to only a symbol of the military is to do it and us a huge dis-service. I wish was that we had this protesting spirit over a decade ago and maybe the Govt wouldn't have gotten us into two wasteful, worthless, and unending wars.

This has never been about the Flag ,this has never been about the National Anthem. This has always been about one man protesting the treatment of Blacks by Police in this country or at least that is what he has said.Others have jumped on the band wagon and drawn their own conclusions and cause's into it making it muddled.

Trump chimed in and as always is ignorant of the subject matter and blew up the entire situation just as JR said "it was settling down".So now what is the protest about, who knows, seems everyone has their own reason. What people have said is that Pat Tillman and many others have died defending a Flag that represents a Country that good or bad allows you to protest it "PEACEFULLY" any way you want.

Last and it's only my :twocents:Kapernick was not playing well when he decided to do this to bring attention to himself , he was not playing well and being a Vet is required to make a certain amount of money,he hasn't take a snap in over a year he is not a very good NFL QB.

was addressing the military angle of it b/c it had been mentioned above and of course its not limited to just those folks. Didn't think id have to fully explain who...but kinda guess you have too these days, which is kinda sad really?

First thing everybody should do is kiss the ground when you wake up, because you really don't understand how well we gotta here in this country. But go on and keep believing the new false narrative of the day and continue to let others tell ya how to think. Its just easier that way I guess.

We could maybe start a new thread about this because I don't want to veer the original thread off topic, but almost FIVE MILLION people in North Korea just signed up to fight us following Trump's latest round of threats. Consider us thoroughly and completely F'd. No disrespect to our current fighting force, but even they know that going into N.Korea would be a complete slaughter the likes of which the world has never seen. Especially since we don't have five million people in all of our branches combined. No way in the world we could beat them on their home turf, hopefully we learned our lesson following Iraq & Afghanistan (Very doubtful though)

Solid, that story is complete propaganda. They can't even feed the army they currently have...and they don't have the fuel to move it.

I hope so man. Maybe we can talk about it in the debating with the enemy thread, i don't want to get the thread off topic too bad. Just had to briefly interrupt because of the comments about Trump, etc., and N. Korea's response with saying that 5 million people signed up..
