Ugly week 1 again... Post game thread.skinsfaninok 09-12-2017, 11:24 AM In the NFL any win is a huge win, you only play 16 games. KI Skins Fan 09-12-2017, 11:28 AM Very True...but again you have to point to Gruden playcalling and scheme adjustments. If your getting your ass kicked on the Oline most the game, well dammit, you adjust and give help starting in the 3rd quarter. you don't keep running 3 wide and empty sets... Bradford had a clean pocket last night...give Cousins the same pocket, we probably win the game. Oline must step the fuck up Yes, I agree that adjustments are sorely lacking. I also feel that JG gives lip service to running the ball better but he hasn't shown the commitment to make that happen. Gruden has eliminated the true FB position and he doesn't seem to appreciate key role players, such as a blocking TE. D Young was a damn fine FB but he was dumped. Just go back and look at his beastly run blocking and compare it to the few times Gruden uses Niles Paul in that role. There is a huge difference. BTW, why are three of our TE's exactly the same type of player, none of whom can block for shit? Do you mean to tell me that a coach who really wants to run the ball can't get his FO to go out and find him a blocking TE? I mean a beast! If Gruden really wanted to run the ball, he would find that beast now and trade for him. You know, a ROLE PLAYER. Who gives a damn if he can catch the ball or not? Not me. Gruden also put our most productive RB in the dog house and then cut him over fumbling issues. Neither Fat Rob nor Perrine hit the hole for shit. They slow down at the LOS and dance. At least Brown hits it hard and he's the most likely RB to break off a long run. He should get some chances. I'm convinced that the root cause of our problems running the ball is the lack of commitment on the part of our HC to make it happen - whatever it takes. Talk is cheap and I'm no longer listening to Gruden's empty words about getting the running game going. BaltimoreSkins 09-12-2017, 11:33 AM snyder is a billionaire, that means he knew basic business at some point.he has picked nothing but shitty football people since he bought the team, vinny, shanny, allen, and everything from the pro scouts have shit the bed since he hired them with the exception of scotty m.how the hell does he not see how they have all just been total failures.malcolm kelly, rod gardner, jason campbell,rg3,all basically complete failures as players, and now doctson. how the hell is the guy that blind? I am not going to call these two shitty. While I am not fond of Vinny his track record elsewhere suggests a decent football acumen. I think the problem is the first name you mentioned. irish 09-12-2017, 11:56 AM Yes, I agree that adjustments are sorely lacking. Its not that running is unimportant but its passing that's most important now and the top salaries reflect that. However the Skins move the chains doesn't matter but they have to get better at making that happen. btfoom 09-12-2017, 12:32 PM Kirk is a proven slow starter, I think it would be wise to ease up with the constant contract analysis. The problem is that when you ask to be paid like the top in the profession, you are expected to play like the top in the profession. He again showed that he is not in - or anyway near - the top in the league. I wonder why more folks here aren't as upset as I am that Gruden called that TO with about one minute to go in the first half. The Skins were winning and the Eagles had a 3rd and long in their own half. Let them run out the clock - not like the Skins offense was just running up and down the field - and get out of there with a lead. Instead, TO, Eagles make first down, score on last play of half. That was a heartbreaker, especially considering the Skins had to kick right back to them. over the mountain 09-12-2017, 12:53 PM I wonder why more folks here aren't as upset as I am that Gruden called that TO with about one minute to go in the first half. The Skins were winning and the Eagles had a 3rd and long in their own half. It was 3rd and 10 with 1:04 mins left on the clock and the Eagles had the ball on their 25 yard line ... Im guessing he had faith that our D could get a stop. Its not like the Eagles were on their 45 yard line. More upset the Eagles were able to convert and go down the field to set up a FG attempt. More upset we are continuing the trend of not getting stops on 3rd and longs and letting TEs rack up numbers on us. However the Skins move the chains doesn't matter but they have to get better at making that happen. Then why does Coach Gruden tell us every week that "We have to run the ball better"? That's "have to", as in need to, run the ball better. Being able to run the ball on 1st down, short yardage, and to close out games does not make a team a running team. Just a balanced one. It's all about timing when you hit the market, not if you're the best or not. One game doesn't decide your value. over the mountain 09-12-2017, 01:59 PM god im sick of talking about this crap....going to the boob thread. peace http://www.chucklebuzz.com/pictures/2014/04/happy-place.jpg |
