I thought OB Jr. was the guy that punched the wall.

He had a fight against the FG net and lost.

That's what I'm saying...doesn't smell right. This is something that seems like would have been news. Washington media and shit stains like florio would have put this out if this was true imo.

It does not meet your smell test because you have a hard on for Cooley. For weeks you have been bagging on him for speculating Scot had been drinking again. Scot, an alcoholic that acknowledged he never really quite drinking.

@MikeJonesWaPo

Was told late in the season of jealousy up top and how they'd one day use McCloughan drinking as an excuse to can him. Exactly what happened

F-Mike Jones - he lost all credibility during the by week when he said Colt could perform just as well as KC.

If this was true, why did he not post it them? He had no issues playing bus toss and driving over people any other time.

As Matty can tell you guys, because I shared it with him a while ago, I've been talking with other media guys for a couple of months now about seeing and reading about McCloughan being (or at least looking) quite drunk (really was noticeable at the Senior Bowl). To be clear, I personally didn't see it. But heard from multiple people I trust, all outside the organization. Of course that's a serious and personal issue so it's not something you just blurt out. We were all pretty stunned when Cooley said it on air. I mean you just don't do that.

Around that time, I got a tip that McCloughan had not been a Redskins Park and let one of the reporters know. A handful of us started to see what was going on, vetting it through various sources. Dismissing some as not being reliable. The one constant we heard from McCloughan to his agent to Redskins officials was "Don't worry, I'll (he'll) be at the combine." Agents started calling reporters and a couple of reporters called me "Where's Scot? The rest of the team is here" And that's when the rest of the commotion started.

Now beside the drinking, I did hear reports of "power struggles" the last few months but honestly had just dismissed it as healthy discussions and figured I was primarily centered around Scot and Jay vs. Bruce and Dan on Kirk Cousins.

Not many of us could show up to work drinking, drunk, lay out of work..etc and keep our jobs and most of us made a fraction of what he was making..He has Serious illness and i hope he can beat it..I don't blame the skins they gave him a chance when nobody else would..i doubt he gets another.

So what do you think about Mike Jones and Mike Silver saying it was a smear campaign? Supposedly Silver spoke wit McC. I'm sure drinking was also involved after seeing those bright red cheeks photo.

Well there you go. Some unnamed guy who works for the Redskins said McC was drunk at work. That seals it. Unnamed guy has never been wrong before.

To be fair, I trust SS and his sources. And I agree that the photo of him with the rosy cheeks definitely is a bad look. I will also concede that there is solid (at minimum) evidence that he was drinking on the job. So if that is the case, yeah it's a valid reason to fire somebody.

But that doesn't mean I don't believe Bruce Allen has a case of the jealousy bug and used it as an excuse to get rid of him. Glorified scout, idc about that. Scouting is the foundation on which good teams lie. Bad scouts = terrible team. I'm not convinced his drinking led to him being ineffective at his job. Here's a question for you McC haters: How many FO personnel drink on the job? It's a loaded question to be sure, there's no way to verify an answer for it. But either way, I'm just not convinced his firing has everything to do with his drinking and nothing to do with Bruce Allen tired of not getting any credit for helping the team.

Or maybe the team started the rumor to get some redskins fans off suicide watch.
He's going to sign eventually.

This team and their leaks are bullshit.
They hire a drunk who never said he gave up drinking but want to fire him for drinking. that's like dating a stripper and complaining she flirts with too many guys.

Fuck Cooley for starting these rumors for the team. What a coward.
LOL ... Great post !!!!!
