I would encourage people to actually listen to Cooley's comments, I found him to be pretty honest and convincing.
I do not understand the hate for Cooley. I was listing to them on the day of segment and I did not think anything about it. When it blew up, i thought i had missed part of the show.
I did not hear the apology, but i read the transcript and it appears to be sincere.

Mayock knows Allen and Gruden well.
That means nothing once egos get involved. Allen knew Scot and his family.
I'm not sure if the thing with Cousins is true or not, but that really says something when the starting QB goes directly to the owner and says him or me. Again, not sure how true that is but if it is that's very telling. Cousins just doesn't come off as a disruptive kind of guy.

Jason Cole AKA Scot -
Insider Buzz: GM Scot McCloughan Was Fired for Wanting to Trade Kirk Cousins | Bleacher Report (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2697293-insider-buzz-gm-scot-mccloughan-was-fired-for-wanting-to-trade-kirk-cousins)
This is an interesting spin on the issue. That report is missing one critical piece of information.....when? When are they talking about?
If Scott wants to trade Cousins now it makes sense because its the only way to get value from a player who is flat out telling you a) he's not going to sign a long term contract b) he wants a trade and basically that he'll leave next offseason and they'll get nothing.
Where is the crime in that? That's what a smart GM would do now.
IF the article is talking about before the it doesn't match the previous reports that said Scott is the one that wanted to sign Cousins to long term deal last offseason.

This guy is terrible. He is a "hot take" shit journalist who takes everything he's heard and then writes a new take where he makes a lot of assumptions based on taking facts out of context. This is a major issue these days, context. Yeah u get it becuase timing is everything with the story. But this allows him to make these assumptions.
It's fake news, he should work for CNN becuase they use the same formula in their own system of "journalism"

Good cautions, all around. Something is surely wrong in Ashburnistan, but for the moment, the only thing we can say for sure is that we are still living in the Snyder era. The old MO was meddling. The new MO is having a bickering FO that can't function without help from the Emperor. Same old same old. What we probably won't see is one exec with clear and total football authority.
The who-is-poisoning Kirk intrigue vis-a-vis the FO requires a little more time and sleuthing to understand. Let's gather the suspects in the dining room:
DS -- who personally washed and pressed RG3's jock strap for 2 or 3 years
BA -- who speaks in riddles and whose continued presence is intolerable to the QB
SMc -- who didn't draft KC and seemed to be the person Kirk most wanted to impress (and who is now lying on the floor with a knife in his back; but his own hand seems to be clutching it)
JG -- who devised a brilliant passing scheme for the underdog QB . . . but stood by while 2 of his top 3 receiving weapons were allowed to go.
Okay Sherlocks . . . Who is the villain? Could Kirk be poisoning himself? Could it be like Murder on the Orient Express, where everyone is guilty?
Stay tuned for next week's episode!

Help me out here... I'm reading articles and aside from the obvious lack of details being a problem, I'm reading that the overall consensus is that Scot had a drinking problem and sources are saying that he repeatedly went to work drunk. The same stories that are taking the as fact are saying that the Redskins treated him poorly by not coming to his defense publicly and not commenting on the dismissal. Am I missing something there? Is an employer obligated to hide the grounds for the grievance/dismissal?

If they tell the world that it was alcohol related that would be looked upon as classless. Of course, leaking it to the media looks even worse.

I just kind of stopped social networking for a while. I was spending too much time looking at screens.
Chris Cooley apologizes to Scot McCloughan, swears he wasn’t Redskins’ mouthpiece (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2017/03/10/chris-cooley-apologizes-to-scot-mccloughan-swears-he-wasnt-redskins-mouthpiece/?utm_term=.9ec58a38f15b)
I don't believe one word.
Cooley later defends DS and BA by saying the drinking leak wasn't from the team but a rogue employee.
What kind of petulant punk goes on the air and swears on his kids? Like that means anything. He can't stand the bad feedback he is getting. Cooley and the leaks are cowardly.
