The truth in all this probably lies in the middle. It's a fact he has a problem with drinking. Why would it be a surprise if it's again a factor?
This all started with Cooley's radio speculation, which he was probabled asked to do.

Williams was a coach, Gruden is a Coach. They aren't decision makers on who gets what contract. Which is why are in this mess with Cousins.
It is my understanding that Bruce Allen has been the decision maker on money/contract matters, even when Scot was in charge of player evaluation/acquisition.
So I don't get your whole argument of having "non-football" people picking players, if you are talking about player contracts.

But I think the both sources would have said this. The story would be McC is in a bad spot and needs help.
But that's not the case. CLEARLY it was a power struggle which was allowed again by Snyder and his Organization.
its pride and ego of Bruce/Snyder....the track record is there folks.
Are you out of your mind? No team is going to come out and say that one of their employees has a drinking problem, unless that person comes out and say it themself.
I swear, you people need to stop with the conspiracy theory.

That's the great thing about history CRed,...Bruce's decision making at the QB position is GARBAGE.
These have proven to be major mistakes...which could have been adverted if we deferred it. 1 & 2 to the Shannies and 3 to McC.
clearly these have cost the Org
QB decisions have been garbage by a lot of good GM's, fact is there are only a few times that the "right" one has been made.
That said, if the choice is solely a BA decision that's not a good thing, but I think JGruden and even DWilliams both have pretty good ideas of what qb's could be here instead of KC.

A few things about the Post piece..
Seriously what do those coaches see in Ryan Grant? He's had numerous chances to make his mark here and fails to do so. I would have kept Ross because he has speed and plays teams. Grant is slow but blocks on running plays...lol. Obviously Grant is a drafted player by Allen so...
If Scot is drinking then who cares? That's his business and as long as it doesn't hurt his job performance then so be it. Last time I checked he's an adult. Cooley is just a Dan and Bruce ass kisser. Wipe the shit off your nose Chris. And the Redskins failure to respond is a total lack of class.
If the GM of the team wants to talk with a frustrated player and went in the locker room then so be it. He's not giving the team a speech or anything. No issue there.
Not signing Cousins last year and failing to realize that he'd put up numbers again is just a total lack of vision. And I feel it goes back to Allen and Snyder probably still a bit bitter about RG3. Just my opinion of course...

You did hear what Redskins Employee Chris Cooley said on the radio?
Im not saying the Organization would state McC has a drinking problem, Im stating the sources inside the FO would be leaking that to WP reporter. This would have come out for sure. BUT THIS ISNT THE CASE. There is no evidence McC was out of control drinking...that would be the STORY.

We got sold swamp land when they hired McLoughan, and now it's all come out. It's not like Bruce hired McLoughan and said I will still have final say on all personnel matters.

Chris Cooley is not Scot's boss, I think there's a difference between a radio personality speculating on his radio show about Scot's drinking and Bruce Allen saying this in a press conference.
Also, if the FO leaks anything to the Washington Post, Scot could sue the hell out of the team.
I don't know if he is drinking or not; but I just don't get people asking why the team doesn't come out and say that he has a drinking problem. It's just ridiculous.

I really don't see Cooley as an ass kisser, but he may not be happy that SM never gave him a shot to get back on the field.
We are really going to argue over which 5th string WR we should have kept? ok...
