From all appearances that didn't happen. I would prefer he had gotten another 2 years, but let's be honest, his strength was supposed to be defensive magic, and he didn't work it here. As to the FO set up it sounds to me, that minus the spin, the personnel selection system was a 3 person system, coach-gm-cap/president. It also sounds like Allen's vote counted more on contract issues. I don't think that's a bad system. CRedskinsRule 03-09-2017, 10:28 AM If Doctson was a big reach id understand the criticism. But killing a rookie because of unforeseen injury makes zero fucking sense. Most folks had Doctson as the top WR in the draft and with Desean and Garcon old and in the last year of their deal....it was 110% a solid pick period. plus we got a 4th round pick this year, just for moving down one. mredskins 03-09-2017, 10:29 AM If Doctson was a big reach id understand the criticism. Yeah it was a great pic. mredskins 03-09-2017, 10:32 AM His drinking lead to his firings before...this time it was absolutely not the reason. BUT as an organization they put someone on the radio to speculate it was. Your right, we don't need him. We are better off... How do you know he is not drinking? Honestly how would you know that? The Redskins can't say he has a drinking problem publicly their are HIPPA rules against that. Chico23231 03-09-2017, 10:32 AM Making it work here was SM's best shot at re-establishing himself. It also sounds like Allen's vote counted more on contract issues. I don't think that's a bad system. McC was just given 2 years that was clearly not enough time. AND we ALL agreed here this was a long term process. My biggest problem with Bruce: 1. McNabb trade and then dumb contract 2. RG3 trade 3. Over ruling McC last year giving Cousins the extension. these are pivotal management mistakes. I mean, set a franchise BACK mistakes. We all do understand this right? Evilgrin 03-09-2017, 10:33 AM We are going to have non-football guys picking players again. Who picked KC, who hates Shanahan. It's just about ego, and not being wrong. I didn't like Shanahan, he was right about Cousins(I was wrong about Cousins). Grow the eff up. CRedskinsRule 03-09-2017, 10:34 AM Yet our defense had zero help given to them. Yeah it was a great pic. Honestly, I think somebody - I don't know who - put way too much faith in Junior Gallette. Remember both years he looked to be an integral part of our line around draft time, only to crash and burn before training camp. Our defense both years would have been far different if he played and played at his expected level. That reliance on him, by whoever called it, was a large part of our DLine woes. Chico23231 03-09-2017, 10:34 AM How do you know he is not drinking? Honestly how would you know that? The Redskins can't say he has a drinking problem publicly their are HIPPA rules against that. WP article by a guy who is completely in the know with the Redskins Org and cross referenced with Michael Robinson this morning with the NFL network. Ruhskins 03-09-2017, 10:36 AM I think you guys are looking at it wrong. Bruce hired McC because he knew he didn't have the chops when it came to player evaluation. But notice Doug Williams and Jay Gruden sat in all of the interviews at the combine. I feel like some folks are getting it twisted and assuming that Bruce will run the draft board and the draft room. I don't, I think it will be Gruden. Now, nobody has said that yet. But that's how I read it. So either you don't buy that and you hate Bruce, or you don't have faith in Jay? I don't want Bruce running the draft board, but I don't think he will be. I'm good with Jay doing it. This isn't a calamity. The more I look at it, the more that I see that this is becoming Jay's team. It sounds like moving forward he will have more of a saying in player acquisition. BA will continue to have a say in terms of money and cap, which is fine with me. |
