Well if thats true, and it sounds like it is then we should can him ASAP.
He'll miss the combine and wont have time to properly prepare for the draft.

maybe . . . but the best draft we had in a long time was run by Bruce Allen with SM consulting from his ranch in Washington while he was drying out

I have a few staff members who I value extremely highly. If I found that one of them were relapsing into alcoholism I would definitely choose to be patient, get them the help they need, let them go on leave and try to get right.

I'd lean on my other staff in the meantime. I fully get what Allen is doing here.

At the same time, if my valued staff member relapsed again after I gave the good grace? Time for the axe.

This of course assumes that there's not some crazy power struggle in my office. Not sure if that's the case in Ashburn or what. But still, I get the patience. I'm not sure Bruce is being a poor manager here.

That all said, it's still not good to be missing the star employee at a crucial time of the year. So fingers crossed for this draft.

If Bruce is drafting, we are going to get Christian McCaffrey in the first round.

Exactly, if it was his grandmother dying and its the combine his biggest time of the year, you suck up your grandma's death; at least to get you through those critical days for your job.

Redskins are handling this the total correct way; basically saying nothing.

He probably did have a family member to pass, but he had been muzzled since the end of January.

It's just a horrible time for him to miss. Hopefully he's left the combine in good hands.

If Scott is drinking again who could blame him? The dysfunction in Redskin park is enough to make Jesus,Gandhi, and Ted Nugent all become alcoholics:twocents:
