complete shit show on the radio driving into work...our guy in Richmond had Chris Russell on. If Chris Russell is right...this aint looking to good.

Mike Robinson from NFL network said Scott told him inside Redskin Park from day 1 its been kinda like a power struggle from within the organization. That those are folks from inside the FO who side with Bruce and aren't "his guys" meaning, folks who he couldnt trust.

This all starts at the top, dan Snyder folks. all starts at the top
Worst owner in football, he's a complete fuck tard. Yeah he wants to win but he also wants to be Jerry Jones, well until he wins 3 rings sit the fuck down.

Regardless of how deeply it's related to alcohol and an alcohol problem, this was the risk the Skins took in bringing SM here. Sadly, I can't remember the last time the Skins took a risk and it actually didn't backfire, I am open to being reminded of any and all great success stories of the last 20 years.

I cant think of one. However, I am not completely convinced the dumpster is full of oily rags. I don't know why but for some reason I think this off season is going to wind up OK in the long run.

I guess the way I read the tea leaves over the last three years is this:

year 1: SM is awesome, great draft headed in the right direction (alcohol free)

year 2: WTF was that draft about...GDI the free agents didnt work either...(not alcohol free)

year 3: Not going to let that shit happen again. Go get yourself together.

At the end of this year (possibly next year) Gruden could very well come out of this as a really solid foundation for a long time. If he can get DS to back off on RGIII and the front office to contain a drunk GM, while at the same time winning games, not too shabby. By this fall promote another GM from within and keep moving forward.

Thems is some Burgundy glasses I am sure, but I cant keep from thinking this is what is happening.

I am not a Snyder hater and tend to dismiss alot of the all things bad in DC are directly due to DS. First five years yes. Since then has been getting better over time.

Scot McCloughan Absent From Redskins Park Since February 20th « CBS DC (http://washington.cbslocal.com/2017/03/02/scot-mccloughan-absent-from-redskins-park-since-february-20th/)

According to this, he hasn't been at Redskins Park since the 20th. SMH

The key piece in here:

Multiple Redskins officials were seen entering the Crowne Plaza hotel in Indianapolis on Wednesday evening for interviews with college draft prospects. Among them were coach Jay Gruden, senior personnel executive Doug Williams, director of pro personnel Alex Santos and multiple scouts. Neither McCloughan nor team president Bruce Allen were seen entering the meeting.

Interviews are the only real valuable piece of the combine. McC isn't there to do what he always said was the most important part - find out what's inside the player's chest, what drives them, who they are. Gruden and Doug are the ones assessing that.

It's clear as day that means those two are driving the process now. If Gruden's in the room I feel a little better. I think he understands character, heart, whether a guy likes football, and I think he knows what he wants in his team. I hope Doug and Allen defer to his judgment.

Why is it Snyder's fault that McC seems to be drinking himself out of another job?

McC missing the combines is like Santa missing Xmas; its their time of the year to shine.

I have seen plenty of smoke at this point something is up with McC. =(

if there is a power struggle inside the FO, its clearly Snyder's fault. I like to think there is support within the organization with someone going through substance abuse problem too. Skins clearly were aware of the problems in the past too.

I agree with your assessment of Snyder, tho I admit this off-season speculation around KC's contract had me worried. If SM has been struggling then that may actually (when wearing BaG glasses) explain some of the lack of movement we have seen. It's still not a great thing, ideally SM kept his act together, and the Skins ship steadied around him as GM and Gruden as HC. Like you said, maybe a steadier GM comes up from the ranks and we keep moving forward. Here's hoping! :food-smil

I am not sure why everyone assigns "power struggle" to Snyder, he is not struggling with anyone, if he wanted to be in charge and out front he would be. If there was a struggle it was between BA and Scot, Dan from all appearances is staying out of it for the most part.

I think that this organization is helping Scot cover up a relapse and trying to quietly get him some help.

It also appears that plans for Doug Williams going forward and it would not surprise me to see him become the next GM, he has done a good job as a coach and in recruiting at the college level, he has the connections and has shown to be a solid scout. I think that the current power structure works and he could slide right in. Let Doug become the super scout GM, and Bruce and Schaffer handle the contracts and the cap. I really want Jay to have a lot of influence and think he is really turning into a solid coach.

Without a doubt. Him missing the 60 player interviews at the combine might as well mean he has completely missed the entire scouting process. It's one of the most important steps.

I've already mentally moved on from McC. In my mind, it's all about whether Gruden can be influential enough to steer the organization towards making smart draft day selections. He's the only one in the interview rooms who I trust.

In away you want a power struggle at the top; it becomes a system of checks and balances. Handing the keys to one person is probably not the best route to go.

Synder wants to make money more then win championships; some people seem not to understand that.
