What are the odds on whether this McCloughan era ends in a raging dumpster fire ala 2013?!

Quite possible it's shock jock ratings motivating Cooley. But I feel like he's too smart to throw out something that incendiary without thinking of the repercussions. I'm not sure where this ends up but I don't like the feel at the moment.

I can't find a link ATM but I remember McLovin having toned down his drinking to beer only when he was hired. I think the assumption is that he has been drinking the whole time.

I don't believe he was ever touted as sober by himself or anyone in the organization.

Somebody with a better memory help me out.

I can't even joke about this, SS's tease reads like a doom-and-gloom type of situation. I'm gonna put my foot by the door juuuust in case... because I can't handle finally climbing out of the dumpster only to go diving back in.

Which tease?

Scot McCloughan is NFL's best talent scout, self-employed and living on a farm (http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12014699/scot-mccloughan-nfl-best-talent-scout-self-employed-living-far)

"I'd think to myself, 'OK, Scot, why not have a beer? It never affected your life before; you went from being an area scout to being general manager. Don't touch the vodka, don't touch the hard stuff. But if you want to have a beer, have a beer.' So that's where I got to. I stopped going to AA."

That's what he says he will tell NFL teams if they come calling now. He knows he sounds as if he's splitting hairs about the distinction between beer and hard liquor, and he's aware of the fact that conventional wisdom says recovery is an all-or-nothing proposition -- even if some evidence suggests most heavy drinkers, which McCloughan says he's not, are functional. "If I was an alcoholic and had a beer, I'd have two, then four, then six, then ... you know, you can't stop," he insists. "I can. I can have a beer and I'm fine. I don't need any more."

"Fun" times at Redskins Park. Some things never change

Agree that Cooley has to understand his position is different from others. I won't comment on other stuff

These teases. I know a simple statement like "I won't comment on other stuff" isn't meant to be a tease, but it just reads like you won't say nothing because there's nothing good to say. Ain't nothin' but bad omens coming out of Ashburn these days.

People's personal issues don't always need to be discussed in the open. Usually not, in fact. Cooley broke an understood code

Ah ok. I agree with that. Thanks SS.

Nothing about this in the main stream media on the national level yet, so who knows. Cooley is an idiot for even talking about this stuff.
