Kirk Cousins 365 thread

This is definitely entirely sensible and would be the exact tact I would be taking. Probably you as well. The key is that it presumes Allen and Snyder are sensible.

I still don't buy the Jeremiah thing. I insist on multiple sources for something like that before I really start to believe it.

It's amazing how the masses get resigned to losing Cousins based on one guy's thoughts on a radio show. Did you guys see that bookmaker.eu set odds 1-2 that Cousins would be with the team next year?

Meaning they think there's a 66% chance he'll be back. There's a reason Vegas is so glitzy and build such extravagant buildings, they're pretty good at setting odds and making money.

Exactly!

I mean all he said was "I would not be shocked at all if we saw a Kirk Cousins to San Francisco trade go down at that point in time” and “I don’t think [the Redskins] are going to be able to get a long term deal done. I would say greater than 50 percent chance he’s not with the Redskins next year.”

A lot of irrational emotions in the air these days!

We also have to keep in mind it's these guys job to talk about what's happening... and during that time of the offseason, pretty much NOTHING is happening (so to speak)... but they're still paid to talk about it, so they're in stressful situation where they HAVE to find shit to talk about!

Even Cooley and Kevin get driven into the mix these days!

Colt got screwed over by his neck injury as much as anything else

I remember wondering in 2014 if Colt had not injured his neck, would he have finished out the year and then been "the guy" in 2015. But you know how it goes in the NFL with injuries, sometimes they open the door to another guy ala Drew Bledsoe, or Kirk Cousins in that case...

Also, another interesting tidbit that I wanted to share, not sure if it means anything at all, but when I went on Roto World just now, Kirk Cousins is now no longer listed in the depth chart for us. Does anyone else find that strange or is there a perfectly logical reason for it that I'm unaware of?

Whatever I hear most recently on any subject is my new truth, no matter how outlandish.

Why are you looking at Rotoworld's depth chart and treating it as something to be interpreted as official?

Redskins.com currently does not list a depth chart. They don't list one until you get into the preseason, that's when the coach does his first crack at it, and then they periodically update it during the season. Then they take it down in the offseason.

You can go to Redskins.com and see the team's roster, which still includes Cousins and Baker and Jackson and Garcon. That's also entirely meaningless. Technically they're currently Redskins now but as of March 9 will not be.

Stop looking for a red herring!

Forgot about that neck injury.

For those saying this irrational or just silly to be having this discussion...Didn't the FO offer Cousins 17 per last year? Yeah. And whats more irrational talking Redskins QBs or a Redskins employee getting on the radio speculating drinking problems in Skins management.?

Does SF love KC enough to give up high draft choices and $$$$$$$. They will not trade for him unless he agrees to a long term contract. No one seems to know what he is asking for.

Haha agreed... That's what I meant: these guys have to find shit to talk about...

For my part I'm 100% in the discussion, I'm just trying to cool myself down and differentiate facts, possibilities, and speculation.

That's something we will find out very soon. Remember, San Fran just hired John Lynch as their GM - somebody with no prior experience as being a GM in he league. Also, San Fran's ownership isn't exactly made up of level-headed rationalists. It's very likely that if Kyle Shanahan thinks that he can get Kirk Cousins and turn the 49ers around very quickly, then the ownership and new GM (who also happens to have a crush on Kirk Cousins as well) would probably be willing to move the heavens and the earth to secure Cousins' service.

It could very well be that the Redskins are sitting at both #2 and #17 in this year's draft, and have two 1st rounders again next year. That is a deal that I think the Redskins probably couldn't refuse.

Maybe if this were to happen, the ownership comes out and says they're extending Jay Gruden another couple of seasons to see where this goes.

Ok, but he said "I would not be shocked at all if" not "I think that is what gonna happen" nor "that's one of the most probable issues"...

I feel like in the heat of all our discussions, waiting, and hoping, some reactions are as strong as if he said "I heard Bruce Allen said they were close to a deal with SF".

I still think the probability of KC signing a long term deal with the Redskins this offseason is somewhere between 30% and 60% (wide range, I know, it's hard to tell), not between 0% and 5% ...
