So you would go with McCoy and Sudfeld?

On the bolded, that's about the most limited thinking I've ever heard. Yeah because all defenses are created equal, so we can put the W vs L entirely on the QB. Stupid.

On the underlined, that's actually a valid point, because the defense actually played well against the Giants and Kirk was a major part of the problem with the offense.

Yeah I kinda think that way too, but I think his point too is don't get wrapped up with just the passing numbers. Does almost 5000 yards 25 td tell the entire story. He hinting at you got to look at the entire picture to justify 24 million per year for 1 player.

Agreed on both accounts. Win loss only holds so much weight. Very little if you are looking at one position. An important one, but still one guy. If we had half a defense our team wins 11-12 games last year.
As for the second point - yes KC did not play well. But that is one game. As far as him not playing well in big games - how many big games has he actually played in? Lol.

first off I am getting very tired of Cousins, I was driving the Cousings train for a long time but the more and more I see and hear he is coming off as a petulant child. Right now he is acting like my 5 year old and saying if your not nice to me I am going to sulk in my room. GROW UP, this is a buisness they were trying to make sure that you were worth the money don't take it personally.

If we can get a decent trade then run with it and Kirk you enjoy your time in SF and the rebuild you will win nothing, or Cleveland where I think is a very good chance due to their cap and Hue Jackson is familiar with that style of QB from his time Dalton.

If we do the deal with SF, I would expect a 2nd and 5th this year and next years first, if that is the case then go defense BPA at 17 and then get either Pettinger or kaaya late and groom them to be the future. (I actually think they may trade back and then trade with us to make it a mid first this year and probably a 2nd and some others next year)

If it is Cleveland and we get their #12 overall, would still go BPA defense and then Deshone Kizer with #17 and again let him sit a year behind Colt.

It's a sad situation that we're even discussing a possible trade of Cousins and which damaged QB we should pick up so we can finish 4-12.

I too feel like I am in my final days as a Redskins fan. Like many many others have said we've made tons of horrible bone-headed Dan Snyder moves over the years, but trading your franchise QB, and the possibility that you lose both star receivers in Garcon and Jackson in the same offseason seems hard to fathom. The icing on the cake is that Dan is salivating over the thought of being able to put Romo in a skins jersey.

And what's really sad, as I hate to say it, but Romo is a good QB and for all we know he would play great for a game or two, we'd crush our opponents, and then when he gets hurt we finish like you say, 4-12 or worse.

If they let Cousins go I think I'm done as a fan. I don't' know how we can continue to support the team. As others have come out and said, we will never accomplish anything as long as Snyder is still here. My hope is that I can outlive Dan Snyder so that one day I can come back to the franchise as a fan that has a new hope if we have new ownership.....

Romo for sure. Cutler is a non-starter because of attitude.

I still think Cousins signs long term. I'm not buying Daniel Jeremiah as a source. I'll wait for the plugged in guys to hear a whisper.

Daniel Jeremiah is extremely well plugged-in. Thing is other well plugged in guys are saying other things. We just don't really know. But DJ has been a scout in the league for years, worked obviously on the media side too. Really tight with some of the current coaches on the team, like Kyle Shanahan and Chris Simms close

I guess my only question is are the two sides even trying to get a deal done, or have the sides gone quiet until the FT is applied?

And that's fair, I just have a problem with trying to boil it down so far as to say just look at W's and L's.

Cousins' stats are all top 5 in the NFL, but I'd put him maybe 12th in the league on the QB hierarchy list. Why? That's where the thinking comes in:

- Great stats with yardage, but isn't he racking up yardage because he needs to? If the defense isn't giving up 27 points a game, then Gruden and McVay aren't chucking it all over the yard all 60 minutes. All this is to say Russell Wilson could throw for 5000 yards too, if he had to. He doesn't, he has the legion of boom.

- Poor red zone performance. We rank quite low in red zone efficiency.

- But pluses, Kirk has one of the highest completion rates in NFL history, and a strong YPA. So he's quite efficient and accurate enough to direct a successful offense.

- Avoids sacks pretty well, more mobile than he gets credit for, and releases the ball quickly.

- Prone to a brain fart bad decision a bit more often than QBs in the top 5 or top 10.

Add it all up and yeah, I think he's 12th or so in the league. But the opportunity is there to get better, and I don't understand pinching pennies at the QB position. Pinch pennies elsewhere, pay the QB.

I have to go back and watch that game again, because the way I remember it it was an awful team effort by the whole offense. I remember Trent Williams getting pushed back a lot, I remember drops...

I remember defense doing the best they could, and offense letting them down big time.

I also do remember KC missing some wide open receivers... but at was said, that was one game. And he won us some big games to get us in position to win a playoff spot in week 17...

Even if they do trade KC, I won't stop being a fan because, if it's a good deal, this team can keep on rebuilding, especially on the defensive side... but that'll be really hard to swallow. It would really be, by far, the stupidest move made by the team since I'm a fan.
