skinsfaninok 03-09-2017, 03:12 PM Oh poor Cousins, we gave him 20 million last year, and are willing to give him 24 million this year, have built the team around him, drafted offensive players in the first round the last two years, and...how is he being shafted by the team?
Please explain to me what horrible things have the team done to Cousins, other than not make him the highest paid QB in the league, which IMO he doesn't deserve.
I agree, I'm a huge Kirk guy but fuck him. He's crying his way out of wash like a little bitch.
punch it in 03-09-2017, 03:14 PM I'm still waiting to hear what horrible things have the Redskins done to Kirk Cousins.
Also, Houston gave Osweiller a ton of money last semester, and they are now in the Tony Romo sweepstakes. Other NFL team have problems you know.
I did not say that Kirk was 100% without blame. But he has clearly not been here for 20 years.
My point is simply that after we lost to Green Bay in the playoffs we seemed to simply be a few defensive pieces away from fielding a legit contender. Somehow we are going backwards though. After 20 years or longer of no quarterback sign the fucking guy long term. Than fix the defense. And i don't really give a crap about other teams. But if u want to go there than there aren't many who have been as bad and as dysfunctional as we have for the better part of two decades. But if it makes u feel better that the browns and lions are terrible have at it. Lol
metalskins 03-09-2017, 03:17 PM I liked Cousins too, and understand that as a player he's going to want to get the most money out of a deal. That's the NFL business and I expected for him to be tagged and for negotiations to go all the way to the July deadline.
But I don't understand the strong desire to leave the team to a worst situation, or why people think the team has done something wrong to him. Over the past two years the team has done nothing but put resources towards the offense, including:
- Drafting Brandon Scherff
- Drafting Matt Jones (yeah this didn't work out, but still)
- Hiring Callahan to improve the offensive line
- Extending Jordan Reed
- Drafting Josh Doctson
- Giving Gruden a 2-year extension
Honestly, I can understand. He likes Kyle Shanahan and he's familiar with the system. He's going to have a familiar face at wide receiver. He probably feels he can come in and win, at least, 8 games. At the same time, he's trading one terrible ownership for another. The only difference is that York has tasted a Super Bowl appearance in recent years.

How do you expect to fix the defense, if Cousins wants to be the highest paid QB in the league and tie up a lot of money. We can't all be the Patriots, who get an elite QB at a super discounted price.
I'm not saying lowball the guy, but I'm not giving him Russell Wilson/Andrew Luck money.

You obviously don't understand the situation. This is an absolute disgrace!!

That's understandable, but people need to stop acting like Kirk is being run out of town.
And Kirk needs to realize that the Redskins are not going to let him go without adequate compensation. If the Iggles got a first rounder for Bradford, then they (SF) need to be ready to give up their #2 overall IMO.

I think they insulted him with their long term deal after the 15 season. They offered him far less that Osweiler.
I'd also say he's had to see how the owner coddled Griffin. There are probably things that have gone on behind closed doors that we don't know about..
skinsfaninok 03-09-2017, 03:23 PM If I'm Bruce, I'm calling other teams about Kirk, not just SF. See what's out there, can we go Sean mcvay up and ask QB for QB. I'd take Goff. Call Denver about simien since they are probably getting romo.

Cousins + a few upgrades on D > shitbag at quarterback + several upgrades on defense.

Draft 2-3 studs and coach up a few guys. We do have some guys that are already on the roster that need to step in and play better, Spaight and Fuller to name a few.
I'd add one or two free agents on the line. That's it.
