San Fran is not going to trade the #2 pick to us for Cousins, they aren't going to give up a bunch of picks for him when they have a terrible roster.

Jordan Reed has also came out and wants to keep the same group together.. I hope it happens.

I could care less about the #2 overall pick or other picks San Fran might throw in. The Skins drafted in the top 10 for years and still SUCKED BALLS because they DID NOT HAVE A QB. They even picked good players with those high draft picks, but again, they still SUCKED BALLS because they didn't have a QB. They had top 10-15 Defenses and could run the ball, but again, they still SUCKED BALLS because they didn't have a QB.

It will be much easier to build the team around Cousins, even after paying him, than it will be to build an all time great Defense that any QB can win with. The Skins won 3 Super Bowls with good QBs who didn't have to carry the entire load. How many Super Bowls did the Skins win with the 29th ranked Defense and a crappy running game. Build the Defense, get better at running the ball and you can win with Cousins for the next 8-10 years. Pushing the reset button is insane. Give me the known entity every time vs. another 20-30 years of wandering aimlessly in the abyss.

Doesn't make much sense to me either to give up so much when their cupboard is so bare. Kyle should know well from his time here that you don't need to give up a ton of picks to find a good QB.

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins will play in the Pro Bowl as an alternate, a source said. Atlanta's Matt Ryan would have played but will be in the Super Bowl. (http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0615205828785346082-4)

Will be the only reason why I would watch the Pro Bowl. With Kerrigan, Reed, and Schreff not playing, I think we only had silverback left who would be playing in the Pro Bowl. I have to admit, it's only fun for me to watch when there's a bunch of Redskins playing. Otherwise, total waste of time.

My feelings were right on the Manusky hire, so I think my feelings of Cousins being signed to a big contract as soon as the Super Bowl is over with will be spot on as well. I'm starting to see that there will be continuity (at least this year), and the biggest spot to keep things heading upward is to re-sign Cousins.

The dumbest thing of all is putting any credence in the rumors that Shanahan could go hard after Cousins. Like, does anybody really think Kyle Shanahan has had any time to do anything besides watch tape and gameplan for the teams the Falcons have faced in the playoffs? There's no way he's talking to all these NFL insiders and telling them how much he wants Cousins. And San Fran doesn't even have a GM in place, for God's sake. All this is just speculation, that because Kyle had Cousins and liked him here, that he'd like him in San Fran.

But to say that the 49ers would be willing to give up two first round picks is getting the cart waaay out in front of the horse.

When Kyle gets there, he'll assess his roster, and he'll form an opinion. He'll no doubt like the idea of Cousins but there's no telling how much he'd want to give up in a franchise tag steal deal. And all of that will be subject to discussion with the GM, who hasn't even been hired yet. He'll go through his own assessment of the roster.

Is it possible? Sure I guess. But acting like this is a done deal doesn't even make one shred of sense. Snake, you suck at thinking. Please just stop posting.

The most likely course is that the Redskins pay Cousins handsomely in a long term contract.

That seems to be what the news and sports media base things on all the time - speculation. Sure, I can see a scenario where Kyle would want to lure Kirk Cousins, but I don't see it as likely. If anything, I could see Shanahan convincing Kaepernick to stay for a bit longer, and the 49ers use their draft picks to rebuild the team.

The only person who could screw up the idea that Cousins gets paid big money would be Dan Snyder. If it was up to him, he'd still have RGIII starting.
