I do not understand why we are worried. He is not going to SF this year or next year, without receiving 2 first round picks and a second. Anybody that says different is foolish. 1. He signs the tag and makes 24 million. If he doesn't sign it, he doesn't get paid. 2. He signs a long term deal by July 15th or he doesn't. If he doesn't he doesn't play and sits on the practice squad like the last QB to leave town. This basically ruins his market value next year. 3. We have a veteran QB that can win 4 - 8 games and is willing to be a bridge QB. 4. If the agent tries to play both sides, they let him know we can tag Kirk next year as well. Kyle has a six year contract, he can be patient. And if the 49ers stink in 2017 they can draft a good QB in the 2018 draft. Then pay him much less money and keep all their picks. Keeping KC on the franchise tag in 2017 with less weapons can only hurt his value. The only good option is a trade before the draft. Brody81 03-08-2017, 10:14 PM Keim was on the radio about an hour ago. I think he said Kyle and KC have the same agent..... if true, it is a game of chicken, do the Redskins settle for a 2nd/3rd round pick, or play hard ball and try to get a first round pick plus ? SF could hope KC would be a true free agent in 2018....Washington should threaten to franchise KC again if SF low balls them. Washington cannot let KC go and get nothing Why not use the transition tag next year and match best offer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Brody81 03-08-2017, 10:19 PM I agree, Redskins have more leverage than it seems. I would not rule out the possibility of tagging him at 34M. They may save themselves enough cap space to be capable of it. Why not transition tag and then match offer to retain? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Irrefutable 03-08-2017, 10:32 PM Why not transition tag and then match offer to retain? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk good point, Keim who follows this for a living seems to think KC could be gone in 2018 and the Redskins get nothing. KC wants to leave and apparently has no interest in a signing a long term contract in DC, so trade him. I think they need to trade him now. There are plenty of teams that need a QB and apparently not many good ones in the draft. skinsfaninok 03-08-2017, 10:38 PM When you see multiple sources coming out saying "Kirk wants out", it isn't just bull shit. You can fight it all u want, Kirk will not be a Redskin much longer. I have already excepted it and want the 2nd pick already. artmonkforhallofamein07 03-08-2017, 10:42 PM Ok. So has Kiem or any of our local reporters backed up Wyche's claim? Are the sources people who actually in on these conversations? Is it the chef or waiters at Redskins Park hearing 25% of a conversation? The fact we want to build the defense and use our oline as a force that it can be in the running game is not news if Cousins signs here or is traded. You know what guys, fuck it we drafted the next Tom Brady last year in 6th round pick Nate Sudfield. Who knows we may be on the cusp of 7 Super Bowl appearances and 4 new shiny lombardies?😂🙌 mooby 03-08-2017, 10:48 PM Who the hell is Sam Wyche? He is another nobody that knows nothing about what is going on inside the building. Did I tell you I spoke to someone at Redskins park last fall? Does that make me a legitimate source? Uh he works for NFLN, I know he's not a local reporter but I'm sure NFLN does some vetting before they say a bunch of shit. Do you really think NFLN wants to be lumped in with the Bleacher Reports of the sports world? This is the network that represents the NFL. As for all the reports, idk what to believe anymore. But I'm preparing myself mentally for his departure, for all we know he's watching the shitshow in the front office and asking himself why he would want to stay with Cleveland East when he could go to SF and reunite with the guy who believed in him all along. artmonkforhallofamein07 03-08-2017, 10:54 PM SF has had top 3 picks the last couple of years right near Cleveland. We have picked 17/22. So anyway Jac CLE east then we are. So CLE west is his choice. Good luck sandtrapjack 03-09-2017, 10:38 AM The Redskins have all of the power. Although accurate is really not even comprehensible. A QB that is tagged for a third year is entitled to a 44% raise from the most recent tag. And if KC is making 32M in 2017, if tagged a third time, he will get 49M for 2018. |
